She couldn't even remember having been adopted (then sent back, all but abandoned to Garden) until more recently and she still carried it close without even realizing it. Those sorts of things dig in deep, they wound, they tear, they scar. You never completely get over this sort of thing. Abandonment hurts even if aspects of it don't. Even if the people that left you don't really matter. ]
