on S3 E1. Spoilers in comments

Why is everyone so baffled by how he survived? There are a number of ways off the top of a high building and most them don't actually involve death. I've done it a couple of times.

It's not that hard to figure out.

And they never revealed the actual way I did it.

[Mun is still married to "landed in the rubbish lorry." (Also, the inflatable mat idea is stupid - it takes longer than that for it to inflate and John would have heard the noise from the fans.)]

They're idiots. Moriarty was wrong about me. I do appreciate the simple - which is why I know that the code was real. It's why I had to go after them. Moriarty didn't like to have too many people directly involved with his plans. More people complicates matters - which makes it easier to fail and be discovered.

It's possible. It works like many networks.

Not many have been in the situation where faking their death would have been an option. I wouldn't say they were baffled by it. More likely they never had to contemplate the circumstances. Ignorance through inexperience.

[mun's headcanon for her sherlock held up soo...no. It wasn't that hard to figure out.]

It is also considered ignorance to think that everyone should be on the same level of thinking as your own.

[Cool as cucumber with that insult.]

Sherlock would not be in such high regard for half his cases if the general population could figure out his methods. The act was meant to fool everyone. Or are you forgetting that part?

[That actually earns him a small smile.]

It's the realization that some can't that makes the trick believable.

Just as Sherlock Holmes dedicates his mind to deduction and observations, others prioritize what they find useful as well.

Not everyone dedicates their mind to the ability to unravel tricks and solve crimes.

That fact doesn't make them any less capable or intelligent.
