[It makes a soft squeaking sound and gets closer to him, pausing a foot or so away.

And just look at that soft black head-blob... who knew Shadows could look like they wanted to be petted?]

[He gets another soft squeaky sound from it, and it leans into the touch, much like a puppy might.

Apparently, someone (or multiple someones?) expected a Shadow to be friendly strongly enough that that's what it catered to. And Teddie must've been out in Inaba that day.]

... While he has plenty of experience at petting, he's not entirely sure how to go about it with a Shadow. It's not like he's petting a cat, after all...]

[It seems like it approves of whatever it is he's doing; it leans into all of it, nearly climbing up into his hands in doing so. It could fit into his hands easily enough, really, thanks to being so small. It's soft, only perhaps half solid, still a little misty at its edges... and it keeps making little bwerbly sounds, cooing happily at him for the attention.]
