It might not be that bad. Mine found out she'd been accidentally doing things 'right' that she hadn't really thought of before.

[Peach will circle around and attempt to land of Luke's shoulder, screeching into his ear. Well, she'll screech regardless.]

Still, they'll have to read more than just the first book. Not more than three!

[Luke jumps a little when she lands, holds very very still, and tries to hide a wince. Parrots are loud.]

Three, huh? Mine's mostly looking at comics. I'm older in a lot of them, but - yeah.

[She wiggles about, getting comfortable and preening.]

Only three! In comparison, not a lot at all.

Comics need more inference.

[He continues to hold still and watches her curiously out of the corner of his eye, not appearing to be concerned about the big hooked beak. Luke hasn't talked to many non-humanoids yet.]

Um - when I'm older I'm in a lot of things, I guess. My mun's just least familiar with the comics, so... that's what she's focusing on.

Why just three? Are those the ones you're in? Uh - who are you, anyway? I'm Luke.

Technically, I could be in several more books, but they want to focus on my current avatar. So three books.

[She stills, finally.]

Machu Picche, but that's a mouthful. Call me Peach, everybody else does.

...It's kind of rude, but... is it okay to ask what you are? I haven't met anyone who looks like you. Reptavians kind of a little similar, maybe, but they didn't talk.

Of course it rude. It's very rude. But ignorance is worst.

I'm a bird. A scarlet macaw, to be exact. Talking can be learned, it's all sound imitation anyway. [Not that she's particularly normal even in that sense.

Being a wizard's pet does tend to cause stranger things to happen.]

Sound, I guess, but language is - like I can sort of talk with animals? If they feel like it? But it's not like with people, even if we don't have the same language.

There are forces that hold together the universe, and language that is universal in meaning, at the least.

Sound like it's something similar.

I guess? I'm not really - I'm pretty new to the Force. It's always been there, but... I haven't really been trying to do anything with it until recently.

Being new to something means you aren't limited by what you think should be. Less boundaries.

I suppose. But a lot of the time I have no idea what I'm doing. ...I've got help a few times, lessons, but...

[wingedpower]

What? You expect to be among the masters when you've just begun? Tsk, tsk.

Nooo... It's not that.

It's that apparently in the future I'm really good at that stuff, and... these are mostly people I, um, train. In the future. So they kind of... think of that.

[wingedpower]

The only way to go is full steam ahead. Time shenanigans and all. [She screams out the last sentence. Time isn't quite as linear as most people expect at all.]

[He flinches about half a second before she screams; split-second precog is not always useful.]

I don't know if I even want to be all that, though! They say I will, and it's easier to be a Jedi there than in my time, but I'm not there yet.

[wingedpower]

It's happened already, so it must be true. Somewhere. [She squawks, preens, then continues.]

There's always a choice. But is that choice worth it?

[His shoulder's starting to ache. Luke continues to hold still.]

I don't like how they all know my future. It's weird. I feel like I don't have a choice, when they tell me about it.

[He should shake her off when it gets too bad, it's not like she isn't used to that. She really does it mostly to see how much she can get away with.]

It's a future. A stronger possibility than some others, but it isn't set.

The reason why oracular predictions are best in the short term. About as predictable as the weather.

You know, on Coruscant, if someone can predict the day's weather for a sector right forty percent of the time, they're banned from most gambling houses.

[Luke's a pretty polite kid. Now he's using the opposite hand to touch his shoulder, around her claws.]

[Being polite can get you far, (and out of trouble) not that Peach is impressed.]

There are patterns. So much of life has patterns.

It doesn't always seem like that. But - yeah, I know.

Scale can be a problem.
