super high school level shaky voice test.......
You should have more confidence in your abilities. While you claim your investigation skills aren't adequate, as I recall when playing through the game you never needed to look up an answer.
Whether or not the logic level was on its easiest setting is irrelevant, the cases themselves are no different. Or if you made several mistakes, sometimes trial and error is necessary. You always found the right path eventually.
As I see it, this is evidence pointing to you needing more hope in yourself.
Besides, you're already rather accustomed to the mysterious, aren't you?

[Unfortunately, you miss a lot when you're dead. Including your mysterious classmate's true title. Don't mind Sayaka blinking blankly at you.]
1/2
Forgive Kyouko, for all she's had experience with, seeing a dead person, who's death was quite irrefutably confirmed, apparently alive again is more than a little shocking.]
2/2
Sayaka Maizono...
What was the last thing you remember before you came here?
no subject
[Sayaka repeats the question musingly, though she really requires no thought about it at all. She clearly remembers locking herself in Naegi's bathroom; hearing the rattling of the doorknob as Leon forced his way in; and then, she remembers writing his name on the wall as her life faded away. She holds herself tightly, not at all comfortable recalling those events from that night.]
I... I-I remember... Kuwata-kun s-stabbing me, and... then—
[She breaks off in a choked gasp, unable to say the next words. Though, her ashen complexion should be enough to convey her thoughts for her.]
no subject
Despite how strange an idea it is, that can't be an easy thing for anyone.
She doesn't show it in the most outward of ways, but Kyouko does feel awful for Sayaka.
No matter what her intent was, earning Naegi's trust and then asking Leon to come to the swapped room, she doesn't deserve what happened to her.]
It's alright, Maizono-san. Please, take a deep breath and relax. You're fine now.
I'm sorry I had to ask. I just needed to be sure.
no subject
I... must have missed a lot after I died, didn't I?
no subject
... I'm afraid so.
You were the first, but unfortunately, not the last victim.
no subject
[She had a feeling that she wasn't the only one who would give in to murdering their peers to escape.]
...Did they graduate, then?
no subject
At the very least, I can tell you all the culprits were identified.
no subject
[She's not sure if she wants to know or not, but she asks anyways.]
Who were they? Kirigiri-san, please tell me everything that happened.
no subject
Despite the fact she probably isn't.]
Very well.
After your body was found, Monokuma announced there would be soon be a "Class Trial," where we would have to correctly determine the culprit if we were to continue to survive. If we failed, we would all be put to death while the killer alone would be allowed free. Those were the conditions of "Graduation."
Of course, Naegi was suspected, but after our investigation we were successfully able to determine that Leon Kuwata was the one responsible. As punishment, only he was executed by Monokuma.
That was just the first case. The second...
I assume you remember Chihiro Fujisaki?
no subject
...D-Did something happen to Fujisaki-san?
no subject
He was killed by Mondo Oowada. Although it was hardly premeditated.
Some time after your death, Monokuma released another "motive," like the DVDs the first time. He threatened to reveal each of our deepest, most dark and personal secrets.
Fujisaki-san's was that she was really a he. He had... a complex. If he wasn't strong enough to be a man, he decided that the easiest way to face it was to not be one.
Yet in the face of this being revealed... he resolved to become stronger. That itself showed strength... strength that Oowada-san envied.
He still blamed himself, his weakness, for the death of his brother. His past haunted him, and when it made him lose control, it cost Fujisaki-san his life.
We all knew, could see that up until his own execution, Oowada-san held nothing but pain and regret for what he had done.
no subject
[Sayaka never would have guessed, in all honesty. Chihiro certainly concealed his secret very well and had managed to convince Sayaka that he was female.]
And Oowada-kun... killed him...
[At least he was remorseful about it. Sayaka thinks that's very creditable, considering how her motive was selfish. Nonetheless, this is definitely a lot to take in. Had she still been alive, she never would have predicted any of this happening.]
no subject
As we would learn, that was exactly what Monokuma was after. Our despair.
Still, it would be some time until we discovered exactly why.
For her own selfish reasons, Celestia Ludenberg, or rather, Taeko Yasuhiro, would next manipulate Hifumi Yamda into assisting her in the murder of Kiyotaka Ishimaru. When Yamada-san was no longer of use to her, she did away with him as well... making her a culprit with two victims.
Yet unlike Oowada-san, or even Kuwata-san, when caught she seemed to hold no remorse at all. It was as though she'd only lost a game.
[Out of all the students executed, excluding the mastermind themselves, Celes was the only one Kyouko would describe as a true criminal.]
no subject
[Sayaka always did have a bad feeling about the gambler, given her mysterious personality. In all honesty, she shouldn't have been surprised that she had decided to kill, but yet... she finds herself surprised anyways. Especially with how cruelly she did it. Having no remorse for killing? Even Sayaka, in her efforts to kill Leon, held great remorse for her actions. That was just... cold not to.]
...Mm. Is that everyone that... died?
no subject
...but I agree, she could do with a little more hope.
no subject
[She can't help but smile a little, though.]
I had a feeling you'd say something like that.
no subject
But I'm glad to see you here, at least. I've run into more people that I thought I would never have to see again than I was expecting.
no subject
In that it's nice to see you too.
[That's interesting, since so far she's having a similar experience, what with having talked to a dead person.]
... Really? Might I ask who?
no subject
...then Monokuma.
A-and Junko-san.
Twice.
[Can you say 'most uncomfortable confrontations ever'?]
no subject
Yes, I found Maizono-san as well.
[The others Naegi mentions, meanwhile, surprises her more.]
You... saw Junko Enoshima here?
no subject
Yeah. She was going on about how she thought I would be the one person to give her a chance, to not want her to die, or something. Though she kept changing her mind about what she wanted to talk about so often that I can barely remember now.
I don't trust her at all.
no subject
... While I certainly wouldn't trust her either, still...
As I distinctly remember, you didn't want her to die.
[It's just something she feels like she should point out.]
no subject
[He's still not sure if not wanting someone like that to die was a good thing or not, but he truly couldn't help himself. He would rather that no one die, if it could at all be helped.]
If anyone deserves to die, it would be her, but.....I don't know. I just....didn't.
no subject
You might not know, Naegi, but she does.]
It's not obvious?
You believe there's hope even for someone like her.
no subject
[He gives a weak laugh, rubbing the back of his neck.]
I guess that's...a little silly, huh? Considering how Junko-san is..
no subject
She was a truly disturbed person, undeniably completely insane, but...
I don't know if it's my place to decide if that alone makes such a thing impossible.
[She's been doing a lot of questioning what she previous presumed was impossible lately.]
no subject
Her favorite things in the entire world are despair and herself, after all. Otherwise, she might as well not have anything else to live for.
no subject
[Oh how funny. So funny, in fact, that Celes can't hold back a slight giggle.]
I never would have expected such a thing from you of all people, Kirigiri-san.
no subject
And unlike Sayaka, who was clearly pushed to the edge before her attempted crime, Kyouko has significantly less sympathy for someone like Celes...
Being driven to the breaking point is one thing. Lying, manipulating, killing two others for a motive like money and then seemingly holding little to no regret for it in the end is another.]
Is there a reason you find it so surprising?
no subject
no subject
You of anyone should know not to be fooled by what they take at face value.
[She may be aloof, but she doesn't consider herself a cold person. Just an experienced and efficient one who knows how to keep collected, even in the facing of troubling situations.]
Which capabilities of mundanes would you be referring to?
1/2
2/2
Especially considering most mundanes can and will be the death of you. At least the mastermind couldn't execute us without a reason. They were bound to rules.
But these people? They have no such limitations.
no subject
She unfortunately knows all too well.
Still, she stays confident and unfazed.]
I'm quite aware that situation is possible.
However, if my mundane is even considering something like that...
I suspect I'll make the discovery well ahead of time.
[She IS a super sleuth, after all. It wouldn't be living up to her title if she were to let her mun get away with that before figuring it out.]
no subject
There's no doubt you will find out about your mundane's plans before they occur. However, that doesn't mean you will be able to do anything about it. There's an old saying about this situation: "A man at death's door can do little, save knock".
no subject
But the fact they were friends at one point truly attests to Celes's deception abilities, if nothing else. If Kyouko knew what she was capable of prior to their memory loss, she likely would have been on less pleasant terms with the gothic lolita.]
While I see your point...
Even in the short time I've known her, my mundane has proven herself to be a plenty negotiable person. I don't predict we'll have much conflict, even if it should come to that.
[She has her own ways of being persuasive, too.]
What about you, Celes?
Have you already knocked?
Or rather, more than once?
