Aw, come on. It's a compliment. Some guys work charity cases. People love 'em for it.

That's not charity. That's paying a debt to a bullheaded jerk I owe a favor or two.

I don't know, Eddie. You weren't doing me any favours or repaying a debt owed to me. From my perspective, you're about as cheap as me.

Well, we still have a robe in your size if you ever decide to come back to the monastery.

Although I guess you turned out all right. I might drop by sometime, but you can keep the look. I've got everything I need.

Sometimes I do miss watching TV. But it's not about worrying about what might happen in the future, it's doing what feels right in the present. I have a feeling you know what I mean by that.

Now, don't start getting preachy with me. I've covered your ass too many times for that.

Look, all I'm saying is if you give people an inch, they're gonna use it to hang someone. And chances are they'll try to take you with 'em.

[Speaking of preachy. He sighs and lights a cigarette.]

I think you forget who you're talking to. There's no such thing as free in my line of work, kid. Playing Good Samaritan usually earns you a bullet in the head.

The world isn't as bad as you make it sound like, Eddie. I've seen a good part of it, good things and bad. And I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about but chances are I don't. I know that I do what I do, give people an inch, because there's good in people just like there are bad. And I have hope that the good parts win out. Sometimes that pays off, and sometimes you get a bullet in the head.

I hope I don't sound too preachy. I want you to know that's how I live with being a Good Samaritan.

[That gets a wry look. Man, he tries to look out for him. Things aren't happy sunshine-filled days with Eddie, but that's only because he knows how much trouble they all attract.]

You sound like just like another bowman. Real hot shot and stubborn about fighting the good fight too.

[He does smile though. A little.]

I never have a chance to be bored with you around. Okay, hero. Just make sure you don't let anyone sneak up on you. I hear what you're saying, Connor. It's not so easy for someone like me to be as giving as you are. Got too much history.

[He's a grown man now, Eddie!! He knows about things!!!]

Someone's got to look out for him. And I probably don't say this as many times as it deserves, but I'm glad you were there to fight the good fight with me when I was clueless.

We are a good team. And history and everything aside, I know you're one of the good guys.

[Yeah, yeah. He's a full-blooded damn hero now. Does he want a parade?]

He's proud of you, and you don't need to hear it from me. He needs you to watch his back. That man attracts more trouble than he knows what to do with sometimes. He'll need you to keep him on track.

[He has more faith in both of them than he usually has in anyone. But that's just because people like Oliver and Connor tend to throw the odds.]

You are a good man, Connor. The world needs people like you and your dad to keep it together.

[Connor stop being such a softy. Eddie does sound amused over the next part though.]
