she wanna be man cured ( minor tdw spoilers )
Of course I agree.
The ones responsible for abbreviating the story made a grave error when they did so at my expense, and at the expense of the Warriors Three. [ Let's not even start on Hogun. ] Such injustices are bound to occur as long as the important tasks are left entirely in the hands of men.
[ Whatever. It's fine. ]
Though they only showed me brandishing my sword before cutting away, I assure you my wielding of it against those guards was infinitely more impressive.
[ She smirks. ]
Fortunately, unlike Thor, I don't need to show off to prove my prowess.

Keep your envy at bay, Sif. Not all can provide a show alongside their strength.

Especially when one is a woman, and the story is being scribed by men.
no subject
At least you were not made to be demure.
no subject
And am I to be satisfied with that?

My thanks. Perhaps a little dragon fire would inspire the creators of these moving pictures to do us all justice next time.

Though I agree, dear lady, that the tellers of this latest saga did you far from justice in the meager room allotted to your role.

[ It's automatic: Sif bows her head in deference. When she raises it again, she has on a strong face, though the memory of Asgard's major loss is still too fresh. ]
Your praise is most high, and... [ she smiles ] most appreciated.

What you say is true, as expected from myself. [ Because the Lady Sif is no liar. Not a one of them. ] Though she plays the part most convincingly, her mortal form has not the resilience of a true Asgardian.
And perhaps I could take comfort in such an explanation, were it that our role was the only one that suffered from careless elisions.
no subject
Oh, I agree completely. [ 100%. ] Honestly, Thor's mortal woman had the pleasure of it more than we did.

[ Her mouth tightens at the corners. She doesn't want to say what she's about to say next, but she can't not say what's in her heart. ]
But none was felt more keenly than yours.
no subject
Of course not, merely giving a statement of fact. There is certainly worse that could have been done to your character is all that was intended.
[ it's not like you got yet more shoehorned romance. ]
am I allowed to threadjack? it was hard to pass up

There's nothing mere about the slighting of your friends. [ But she says it lightly. Teasing, as only old friends can. ] There could've been worse. But there also could've been better.
[ She gives him a look like she's reading his mind. ]
Are there any grievances to which you would like to give vent?
by all means!
You go down to Midgard, kill droves of innocent people, and yet we're the barbaric creatures.
[ Right. ]
huzzah! /o/

It was not I who slighted my friends. [ more or less. if someone had written a better movie, he wouldn't have done so many stupid things. ] No matter what, there is always vast room for improvement within this realm. [ ahem ] So I hear.
[ let's not go here ok ]
Many. Though I do not find this to be the right place nor time.

[ Her smile returns slightly. ]
With the help of myself, Volstagg, and Fandral, of course.
no subject
Of course not. I trust that, had any one of us been in command of the story, it would have been a vast improvement.
[ She's imagining it now. ]
Although, Volstagg likely would have replaced many of the scenes with ones of him eating. Fandral would have diminished our parts to make more room for his own, and Hogun would have diminished all of it.
[ Never mind. She takes it back. ] Perhaps just you or I should have been in charge.

I have done my penance. I saved Thor's life. The Nine Realms are safe. [His mother avenged.]
no subject
[ And guess who's public enemy no. 1, pal. ]
There's no doing penance for you. Penance requires remorse, of which I'm certain you have none. [ It's probably not wise to speak ill of the dead, but what does she care? This is Loki. ] I would have cut out your liar's tongue with my knife if I'd had the chance.
[ But. She didn't. And she won't question the will of
the writersthe All-Father. —There's no point, now.Her tone softens. ]
And yet, if Thor's account is true, you did fall in battle with the dark elves. [ It's the least he could've done after all the shitstorms he caused, but she'll try to be the bigger person here. ] For that, and for defending Thor, I thank you.
no subject
[She smiles back, confidently.]
But I am not at all surprised that you would play a role in this battle.
no subject
Rather, it was surprise. And suspicion. And doubt and anger and pride and disbelief and rage and a flood of emotions all at the same time.
Her words were centuries too late, and too little. And without true care, or so he believed. Why should he believe anything else?
He looked away from her, jaw clenching.]
How kind of you to thank me for dying, Lady Sif. It was nothing at all.
[Never mind the truth of the matter and how it actually all played out.]
no subject
anyway. he laughs—whole-heartedly because he can't not. she is absolutely right on all counts. their friends would be terrible. except volstagg would probably do okay, he does tell delightful stories and keeps the taverns in rapt attention. ]
I imagine you and I both would craft a far better story. Perhaps with Volstagg as a... creative consultant.
no subject
[ Not that Asgard doesn't have plenty of defenders left.
She beams at the compliment (because she's taking it as such) and returns the smile. ]
I would have played a bigger role if the fates had allowed it.
no subject
Thor's laughter is met with a bright smile. ]
Yes, as a consultant. He would excel in that position as he excels at a banquet table.
[ She pauses. Her smile softens around the edges. ]
Your presence will be missed while you spend time on Midgard. Pray do not forget the friends you've temporarily left behind.
no subject
I have faith in Thor; I know you do too as well, Sif, though some of his choices may test that much at times. If he believes Midgard is where he belongs for now then so be it. And if he swears to return should his aid be needed...then by everything in his power and perhaps beyond, he will.
The fates, or only those that at present are allowed to speak for them, perhaps.

She can't stop herself from smiling the tiniest bit at Loki's reaction. No longer a boy, but he still acts like a petulant child. ]
I was thanking you for your sacrifice.
[ Cue eyebrow-raise. ]
Did you expect me to weep for your loss? [ Sorry but that ship has sailed. Should've thought about that before he tried to kill her and her friends—before he tried to kill Thor. Twice. ] I mourned you once, Loki. I will not do it again.
[ Fool her once, shame on you. Fool her twice, well. Shame on her, but don't think she won't find you and punch you in the throat. ]
