When confronted with a situation where logic can argue both for, and against, both ultimate outcomes, it is generally helpful to remember one's goals. Though, as I recall you have none, I doubt any advice would be of help to you. I will not advise on a situation where logic is nonexistent; the exercise is both futile and unproductive.

Sometimes situations don't play by logic's rules. What do you do when you come across those?
kayeaton: (you talking to me?)

[personal profile] kayeaton 2013-12-01 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that's convenient. We should all be so lucky.
kayeaton: (really? really.)

[personal profile] kayeaton 2013-12-01 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
What if the situation's illogical, but everyone calling the shots thinks it makes perfect sense?

The absence of goals alone doesn't remove logic from the equation. Although it's not like we can pretend we've got much say in the matter, unless you're one of the so-called muses that never shuts the fuck up.
And I'm disinclined to think you're the type.
pervigilo: (Flip.)

[personal profile] pervigilo 2013-12-02 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
The succinct disdain for your mundane's more irrational behavior clued me in.
pervigilo: (Consider.)

[personal profile] pervigilo 2013-12-02 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
So the logical conclusion is that my observation is legit, at least regarding the frequency at which you feel the need to bend your mundane's ear.

I'm curious. Are you implying that you believe your writer to be completely incapable of logic, or does your assertion apply only to the present situation?
anthropos: (Default)

[personal profile] anthropos 2013-12-02 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Then I must disagree. In the act of voicing you as a muse, he or she has already displayed the proclivity for pursuing one's goals.

Curious. Is not the pursuit of a hobby synonymous with being human?

Logic often clashes with the emotional nature of the people involved. Even when you think you have a grasp on people's behavior, it shifts out underneath you. Though I find your advice on goals to ring true.

I suppose this bit of introspection came from something your mun did?

I am currently considered, on my planet, to be the one who must keep balance between four nations. I've learned logic has no helpful properties when dealing with more than two people. Illogic is the core of people's being, it seems.
