Game is

Let me get this straight. You sent me alone against M. Bison of all people, surrounded by his goons, to protect a snarky little girl?
[He folds his arms. Then grins. He's going to get his ass kicked, but it's for a good cause.]
...See, this is what I like about you.

[But a little more down to business.]
My mundane has been looking at this "Genessia" game. What...is it, exactly? [Starscream would like to get an idea of what he might be thrown into.]

[He grins, then looks thoughtful. How to describe it?]
Well, all of us start out in this central city. It's attached to these portals that lead to four other cities based on genres, like fantasy and sci-fi. We can even open up gateways to copies of our own worlds if we give up something important to us to do it.
[Kirk's still considering the merits of doing so. On the one hand, it'd be good to have access to the technology as well as the intelligence and skills of his crew. On the other hand, this Bison guy really shouldn't be roaming around the Enterprise, not even a copy of the ship.]
There aren't that many of us now, but it seems like new faces are starting to show up more often.

...Now my Mundane sounds intrigued. Brilliant. [Sighs after that bout of sarcasm.] Well, as you say, at least it's not a horror game. The potential for exploration sounds somewhat interesting.
You mean super interesting for a science geek like you, Screamer.]no subject
Besides, I know at least two other people in this headspace who'd melt into puddles of happiness just to meet someone like you.
[Orihime's a big fan of robots, and Yang likes anything powerful and flashy.]

The other one is just plain nuts and seems to like machines that go fast.

[He's not mentioning details. He's not a total douche.]

*She's a glutton for punishment sometimes. She really is.*

Desperate, huh?
[Grin.]
But you said 'almost'. So you're not asking.
no subject
*Oh, Jim. You always have to make things so difficult.*
Fine. I would love nothing more than explicit details please.
no subject
Well. It starts with dinner in a nice restaurant. Real food, candles, the works.
[Maybe he'll just test the waters and see how it goes depending on her reactions.]
no subject
Sounds respectable enough. I'll admit that I never took you as the wine and dine type.
*There's no malice in the words and she smiles in consideration of it. She likes Jim, maybe more than she probably should given that he's her Captain, but as smart as she she still hasn't managed to put together the fact that it might be mutual. She's quite well aware of his reputation.*

[Kirk likes the ladies, but he's not a douchebag.]
Anyway, that's when she probably starts mentioning that she went shopping at this lingerie boutique. When that comes up? You know the night's going to wind up being awesome.

*And that really did depend on who you asked. Christine's reports hadn't been kind, then again Carol knew that Christine could hold a grudge with the best of them. She'd also gotten to know Jim and she very much liked the man she'd learned he was from personal experience.*
Far too obvious. A woman that has to rely on props to keep an evening alive and interesting is one that will bore you very quickly. It shows a lack of imagination if that's what she has to jump to at the start.
no subject
That does seem to be the case, now that you mention it.
[Interesting. He nods at Carol.]
What would you do instead?
no subject
What would I do? That depends entirely on who I happen to be with. Conversation is key. Seduce a person's mind and the body is an easy task.
no subject
[He leans against the countertop on one elbow.]
Let's see what you've got.
[He holds up his hand and makes the beckoning motion with his fingers.]
Seduce my mind, if you can.
no subject
There's just the hint of a smile on her face when she stands her ground and counters.*
Invite me to dinner and I'll consider it.
no subject
Then would you do me the honor? I'll even abstain from cooking.
no subject
*Carol grins. She'll question if she's done something epically stupid or not later.*
