No, it's a town straight out of some horror combination of Stepford Wives and Smallville! Only worse!

Horror? But it sounds so lovely! It can't be all that bad.

It is! Cooked poultry attacks people, Santa gives horrible and cruel gifts, women cut you up and put you back together wrong! It's a nightmare pretending to be a nice place.

That... That doesn't sound real!

Depends on your definitions of real.

Well, I have a pretty broad definition of real, to be honest. But that doesn't even sound like something they'd have back home!

This isn't your home though, this is worse than hell.

Hell isn't really all that bad. It's warm and cozy... Unless Mother is upset.

Hell is suppose to be a place of nightmares though. I mean, I know some places is just where Prinnies go to be trained but....

Oh, I suppose parts of it is... Parts where the humans are allowed.

People should probably stop choking on their drinks. It's not healthy.

They should, my dear. They really should. One can only be grateful they aren't spitting it as well, or else we, or their monitors, would be a bit uncomfortably soaked.

I don't think Mr. Aziraphale would be too happy about that. Crowley was reading one of his books when he started choking.

I can't say much about where you're going dear, but I can tell it will be a mite brighter with you in it.

Everybody should like cookies! They're cookies! Should I make just chocolate chip or should I make oatmeal raisin? Or maybe I should just make a variety and let people choose!

It's a nice town, but there's no baby birds or flowers, yet! It's too cold right now for things like that.

But still, it's really amazing! The people there can even bring the dead back to life! Have you ever heard of a place like that?

Cold? You mean it's not always spring?

Wow! There are? That's so cool! I can't do that. I tried once, but it was a fiasco.

No, it isn't. [She laughs.] Right now, it's winter!

And I'm living proof that the dead can come back to life! Literally. So, even if everyone says it's strange, it's the good kind of strange, so far. Don't you think so?

[He blinks at her for a moment.]

You were dead?

[schooling]

That's right. I've been the ghost of an old school building for a long, long time.

[Her grin turns a little teasing. She likes to surprise people with that information on occasion.]

Wow, really? How long? What happened to you? Do you like being a ghost or are you happier being alive again?

[Whoah, boy. Maybe slow down with the twenty questions.]

You're taking this pretty well, huh?

[That's almost disappointing, but oh well. She decides answering his questions isn't so bad.]

Hmm, I don't really remember how long. A few decades? It kind of all runs together after a while.

I don't remember what happened to me! It's a mystery~. [Partial lie. She has a good guess, but doesn't actually remember.]

Being a ghost isn't so different from being alive, but this way, more people can see me. It's not as lonely.

Oh... I, uhm... I'm pretty familiar with supernatural stuff.

Loneliness is a terrible state to be in. I'm glad you don't have to be anymore!

Ohh, are you not human? There's a lot of different kinds in Mayfield, so maybe there's more people like you there!

Oh... Yeah, I'm actually a demon. Do you think there are more demons in Mayfield? I... I hope not. They're usually pretty mean.

I like being noticed by nice people.

Hmm, I've never met a demon before! This is exciting. ♥ I live with an angel, though, so who knows? Maybe there are other nice demons there.

It's always good to be noticed by nice people. That's how friends get made!

Wow, an angel? [He looks in awe for a moment.] I've never met an angel before, but I've heard they're really nice.

I love making friends! It's always fun to have picnics with them!

[schooling]

Mm, he's the one assigned to be my father. He's very nice! He didn't even get angry when I messed up the kitchen on my first day there.

[She giggles. Ah, screw it, Ebony is adorable. Yuuko's decision is made, and now it's time for ~physical affection~ in the form of hugs.]
