Well, things are a little rough right now. At least, in Bete Noire. There's totally a line being drawn in the sand between humans and everyone else. Wizards counting under "everyone else." And we have lots of 'em.

I'm not sure what 'The One' is. All I can tell you is that some people found out I wasn't human and decided to make an example out of me. A sort of how-to video for killing Cainites. Except the idiots had no idea how to properly kill me. Thank God.

Doing surprisingly well, all things considered. I mean, don't get me wrong, it wasn't fun getting shot in the face and outed on live television. But I really found out who my friends were, I'll tell you that much.

She's my girlfriend from back home. The One took her, murdered her and she became a Half Light. Not living but not able to cross over type of thing, stuck somewhere in between. At least she's not a Lost One and can seriously kick some Lost One ass but it's not the same, I hear her all the time and she's come to me and helped me and Wist out more than once. But, she always has to leave....

Yeah, it's a long, messed up story. Believe it or not, once I was a normal, football playing teenager. Half Lights my writer says are kind of like spirits, people who have died but are being blocked by something in my world, she won't tell me and can't make their final journey. Lost Ones are the same thing, except in life they were murderers, child abusers, evil people and so they become flesh crazed ghosts who are cursed to live in the Shadowland.

Shit, that sounds like some of the things I had to deal with in Phoenix. We were totally battling a guy who called himself the King of Ghosts.

He wasn't a murderer or a child abuser. Just a dead Cainite.

It sucks, that's for sure, but at least now I know where she is. Three months of not knowing was worse, wouldn't have made it through that without Wisty. Lucky you only got one of them, we just escaped a pack of them.


Kind of weird, finding out my world isn't the only screwed up one. Wish I could say it was nice to hear but it's a big joke to think other people have to suffer too.
