I am aware there are similarities between her and I. Between father and I and...the two of them. Certainly between my mother and "Father Comstock". If there is truly always "a man, a lighthouse and a city", then what happened to father and I would qualify.

...seeing my mother drown once was quite enough for me, though. I'd have no desire to do it again, even if I had the ability.
