As you're already aware, this is hardly your normal course of action. Why you're having me illuminate the point for the sake of compelling narrative is beyond me, and I must admit I sincerely doubt your ability to capture the underlying personality points necessary for an accurate representation. Your track record suggests that you're far more likely to both play and grasp a personality type closer to that of the Captain's.

As a science officer, I also feel the need to address that the basis for your name. Vulcanite a mineral found on Earth. I am not from Earth, and the root word is coincidence at best.
Beyond that which I've already mentioned, the amount of time you have for such things is limited. You spend most of it on keeping up with the responsibilities you already have, and the likelihood that this endeavor will amount to nothing is an approximate 96%.
Finally, I feel the need to inform you that I will not... say it. Your dogged determination to get me to use that word makes me all the more inclined to stifle it.
