On the reserve in
scorched and on recent canon developments
I'm surprised your impulsiveness hasn't gotten you into an...undesirable situation yet.
[ A pause, a sigh. ]
This isn't a good idea. Take my word of advice for it: leave me be. I have enough complications to be concerned about without these insistent interventions.
And no. I do not wish to comment on any of the occurred events. Although I'm sure you'll find out in due time.

:'D
Bonnie. [ A pause. The slightest, barely seen flex in his jaw.] And why don't you like it?
hai (bonnie in game is taken post s2 finale, but i will canon update her eventually)
Elijah. [Barely an acknowledgement but it's there.] A simple reason. I don't like you.
ohai! (cool! Elijah is from 3x15, most recent one! :'D Also, sorry still practicing with his voice!)
[ A wry smile of subtle amusement.] Your personal emotions, although noted, don't matter.
Especially since you were part of the plan to kill off my entire family, Bonnie. You'll be wise to make yourself scarce in my presence.
(yeah, he isn't so happy XD and don't worry, I think you're doing great)
They matter to me. [And that is all she is going to say about that.]
Some members of your family tried to kill people who are important to me. I was protecting them.

A new complication is exactly what it will be.

If you want to get all of my titles, it would be Doctor Primogen Mina Barrett, Hierophant of the Circle of the Crone, Clan Ventrue.
But that's rather a mouthful, don't you think?
no subject
[ A small nod though. Yes, it is quite the mouthful, but he won't go pointing out the obvious.] Pleasure, Doctor Barrett.
And back to my initial question: what is our line of business to you?
no subject
no subject
Of course? It is my first time hearing the term.

You're a vampire as well. [ He's analyzing you know, briefly. ]
I don't see how me being one links to these..."Modern Nights" you speak of. A reference to the Sun-and-Moon Curse?
no subject
The what?
no subject
Most vampires now know little of it. Or am I to understand you have a different story entirely?
no subject
And I know nothing of werewolves. Nor do I care to.
no subject
I am one of the Originals. The first vampires to ever be created. I've never heard of any... Longinus. [ A wry smile. What an odd name.]
no subject
What clan are you?
she's a cool character, by the way! :)
My family is of the Mikaelson bloodline. But I'm afraid vampires don't group into clans. Unlike wherever it is you are from, apparently.
[ A snort.] Your lack of trust is quite entertaining, Doctor Barrett.
Thank you! I love Elijah!
Our Prince learned that the hard way.
:'D
[ A smirk. ] Many learn best the hard way. [ At least, everyone who dealt with him. ]

They gave him ample reasons.
So he burned down the city.
[She examines Elijah critically.]
I very much doubt you'd let a situation come to that. Your potency would be enough to keep the neonates in line.
no subject
[ A raise of an eyebrow.] Burned the entire city, huh?
...Pardon. Neonates? [ although, she generally got the point right. He's one of the strongest vampires alive.]
no subject
[She rakes a hand through her hair, giving him a little half smile.]
And I don't flatter idly, darling. Do take the compliment.
no subject
Yet, I have given you little reason to offer me any form of flattery.

[ This was more than a little funny to him. Usually, it was the other way around.
He guessed that was the benefit of not fully knowing his reputation, his capabilities. ]

[ Pause. He'll take the complement silently, thanks very much. ]

Men, especially mortal men, are just threatened by a woman in trousers, I think.

[ A stunned beat. Elena doesn't know what to do with the conflict of her feelings about this. ]
:') hey you!
[ A nod, acknowledging, almost with amusement noting her reaction.
If he felt any guilt for his actions, his expression said nothing of it. ] Am I to guess that you aren't too pleased about this either? Much like your Bennett friend.
and you! :')
I didn't say that. [ His betrayal has cost her. Yet she has never placed undue blame. She respects his loyalty to his family; she has always respected him. Trust, however, is earned. ] Do I have reason to?
no subject
The corners of his lips tug up for a fleeting second, but the so-called smile doesn't reach his eyes. He saw nothing more important than preserving his family, but breaking a given word has always been an offense worthy of punishment.
Of course, trust was earned. He knew that, of all people.]
No, Elena. And believe me, I will make sure not to give you reason.
[ A pause, a slight tensing in his jaw.] I...apologize for my betrayal. Simply, family is all that remains, in the end. [ Hopefully, she could understand.
He didn't necessarily feel like he needed to explain himself but...he did feel regret. The letter he wrote nothing short of sincere.]
no subject
She perhaps understands him more than she ought to understand. It flickers in her eyes at his apology, at his careful smile. (Hers or his, it makes no difference - ) family is all that remains, and that's all the more reason to keep them and keep them safe.
Words said and spell broken, her eyes flickers down for a moment as she nods. ]
I'm glad. [ She pulls in a steeling breath, continues sincerely: ] Thank you. For your apology.
I've - proven in a similar situation, I would make the same choice. [ They both have their regrets. Elena is not proud of herself. ] So thank you. I don't need an apology to forgive you. I understand why you did what you did, and I hope you understand why I did, too. It was wrong to deceive you.
no subject
You, Elena, surprisingly or not, did have his respect also. Your own loyalty is commendable. Although your deception, you could say, led in turn to his brash actions. ] Mm. You would make the same choice. Essentially, you have.
[ It seemed almost nicely ironic to him. She deceived, he in turn betrayed her trust. This time, Elijah's smirk has dry, with a sense of sarcastic humor as he locked his gaze to her. Yet it wasn't hostile. He would admit, he was pleased to see her admit to her own regrets.] Well, I suppose we are even then.
[ A pause, lifting his eyes up slightly, as if remembering a thought. The look of amusement is subtle, much like many of his other expressions.] But. I am growing increasingly tired of your Salvatore brothers continuously trying to put a dagger through my heart, one way or another. [ A head tilt, musing.] How likely are they to try that at this...Anatole place?
no subject
They can't. [ And she's even relieved about that too. She wants no trouble with Elijah, and she doesn't want Stefan or Damon or anyone to get hurt needlessly: and as far as she can tell, this would be the epitome of needless. ] They won't. [ She'll make sure of that, somehow. ] There's no white oak tree or ash, no dagger here even if they wanted to. Not unless you bring it with you.
[ A pause. ]
Elijah, your family isn't here. Klaus isn't here. [ not yet. hopefully not ever. ] There's no reason we all can't ... live together, or just in peace.
no subject
[ Lack of the other Originals meant lack of problems. Ironically, all his betrayals, and endeavors against his brother...really were rooted into the presence of his family. With it not in sight, there would be much less problems to deal with. Surprisingly enough, he found the thought humorous. Family: just as important as it was a nuisance at times. A light, single chuckle, before turning away from his reverie.
He mused at what Elena said, absently chewing on his lip. ] Do not think that I will look for conflict where it isn't necessary, Elena.
[ Basically, he agrees with you... But he also assumes you know he will act accordingly if someone else was to start one.] Moreover, I believe you make a better ally than enemy.
