on being given a paid & promoted to muselist. canon is American McGee's Alice.
I suppose it's quite flattering, being given all the new faces. What's unflattering is you expected me to leave, didn't you? You might have sewn up the wound, but you didn't disinfect it first.
Still, I won't be ungrateful for being given a gift. So, thank you. I do appreciate it. Maybe now I'll get my point across much clearer to those who matter. And maybe you'll do more than just dust me off every now and then, too.

I'm quite glad to see you "promoted to muselist," however. It's good to know you're not going to vanish anytime soon.

Thank you. I'd have tried harder not to when I did, but she's almost as stubborn as I am.

My mun can be the same sometimes, although with her it can be with picking up a muse in the first place. She waffled for a while before she first created me on tumblr.

Well. I'm certainly glad she did. Sometimes they need a little push.

So am I. And that she decided I deserved a space on Dreamwidth. It's been fun.

Good. If not we'd have to fix it.

We certainly would. But so far I haven't had much cause to complain. Most of the memes I've been in have been all right -- and the company's quite nice. *shy smile*

Don't jinx it, or you'll turn right around into a cardguard.

Ugh, yes, you're right. You never know what might happen, do you?

Expecting the unexpected only leads to distraction.

And doesn't work, because expecting the unexpected only turns it into the expected. Which means something else has to be the unexpected.

Expect a frown, and you'll forget to expect a smile. Expect either, and you won't expect any tears.

I'd hate to be able to predict the future, it sounds horrible.

(He nods.) I think I prefer having it as a surprise too.
