It was either take them out or risk a pack of chupacabra getting a taste for little kids instead of rat dogs. [No fondness for Chihuahuas, blame it on spending too much hime in Hollywood watching parents spend more time with their mutts than their kids.] Personally I'd rather do the research bit, but I needed air.

Cliff note version? Dad and mom met while my Aunt was helping Dad's mom's family with a hunt. My twin and I came along 9 months later and we go by her name because it's safer. [How do you tell your great grandfather that your Dad was a soulless creature for a while there and according to her aunt kind of a jerk.]

I do. My youngest never really knew me and my eldest lost me when he was still a boy...but here, I've gotten to meet both.

Even still. Especially if you have a twin, you should have had someone go with you. Taking on a pack by yourself, you could have gotten badly hurt.

[ Henry's scolding is probably less than anyone else's, but it's still scolding. ]

That's good. John's...he's still young. He needs me. I have heard, read, about the man he turned out to be, and I'm proud of him. But it's not what I wanted for him.

[She sighs, she has a feeling she's always going to get scolded, though there's a small smile, she'll endure it from her family.] Yeah I know really didn't expect to hunt in the first place. Had the weapons with me but was just driving around.

Well the family name is kinda a magnet for monsters. Mom wanted me to have as normal a life you can have being the daughter of a guardian for a white witch and a hunter. Rohan always wanted to hunt, I always hit the books, learned white magic from my aunt, took fencing because my parents insisted I learned how to defend myself.

It's probably demon run, because really as stable as it is most the time has to be. Just not sure of their end game yet.

John? [That gives her pause for a moment...it couldn't be...but this was connecting way too much.] Would you think me rude if I asked his last name?

[ He offers his hand. ]

After a long moment, she takes his hand with a grim expression. Her husbands father had always been a sore subject with him.]

Mary Winchester. It's good to meet you, finally.

[ He places his hand over her, holding it rather than just shaking it. ]

I read about you, John wrote of you often. I'm so sorry that I wasn't there for John, or you. I tried to get back to him.

If you are going to do field research you should always have a partner. As a general rule, field work is much more dangerous, though it does depend on the research or experiment.
