[Jean's face warms, and she offers a friendly smile. Leaning forward, she rests her hand on her chin and tries to play it off nonchalant.]

Dunno. Guess it depends on what the answers are.

I can't say they'd all be good ones. But honest answers never really are.

[Scott hopes it doesn't seem as though he isn't happy to see her. Because he is. But there's never much point in trying to suppress his stress around Jean, and things in the wing-village are troublesome.If he tried to lie about it, she'd probably just get mad.]

[Jean pauses, observing Scott and contemplating his answer for a moment. Usually Jean's friends were an open book - and this was without taking her powers into account - but Scott was always somewhat of an enigma, and at times, that troubled her.]

Kinda sounds like I'm not the only one needing answers.

What kinds of things? [Her timbre rises and her eyebrows arch. She's clearly interested in what Scott's alluding to. Were they in danger? Were there problems they were struggling with?]

[Yeah, her blow-dryer went out, and her hair was particularly limp today, but were those really things that sufficed as "going on"?]

It's not like she'd press to find out, even unbeknownst to her.]

From what he keeps telling me, I'm not sure if he'd want the trouble of my being there.

Mystique got loose. She wasn't happy about what happened when we recovered the Professor. [And Scott still gives absolutely no fucks about what Mystique might think or feel about him leaving her trapped with a pile of scientists. He's just reporting on what happened.] She tricked me into going to Mexico and ambushed me. That's around when I was pulled away. Rogue and Kurt have different stories. I can't find a link between them all.
