Voice Testing - Likely to Imperial Saga
You wish to send me to the field of battle? Mm, I should not leave my country. The borders must be watched. I suppose the General and Ranulf could take my place for now... Very well! Let us show them the strength of Gallia!
...Beorc-mun, use fewer words. How could the war with Begnion never have happened? How could I go there and be younger, and 'not me'?
I do not understand her. Alternate universe? Someone explain to me what this means!

/yanks wiki info
If we are talking about the many-worlds, then we are speaking of quantum mechanics, and the theory exists that that all possible alternative histories and futures are real, each representing an actual "world" or "universe" all their own.
Basically, every possible outcome of every event defines or exists in its own "history" or "world", thus providing us with a near-infinite number of universes. Everything that could possibly have happened in our past, but did not, has occurred in the past of some other universe or universes.
[ No one said "simpler words". Also, Yumemi is munching on a bag of baby carrots which is totally relevant to this explanation. ]
/o/
I still do not understand. What has happened has happened. It is that simple! How could it happen elsewhere?

Out comes the blackboard and chalk.
Were doing this man
WERE MAKING THIS HAPPEN ]
Let's start at the beginning. What's your name and where were you born? [ Here begins the timeline. ]
no subject
I am Skrimir, the new king of Gallia!
no subject
sciencemagicunimportant. ]Alright, Skrimir — [ She jots down a scribble that is a reasonable (if incorrect) approximation of his name. ] Think back to the first time you ever got hurt as a child. The details aren't important... maybe you fell and skinned you knee, maybe you sprained your ankle falling off a bike, maybe someone tried to play baseball with your skull.
Kids play rough. [ She sharply draws a line up from some point along the first one. ] What happened? You picked yourself up, got better, and got right back to playing, or something else?
no subject
Hah! I stood up again. There is little in this world that can strike me down.
no subject
The other? You grow up with a crippling fear of sidewalks, never leave the house again, grow up a shut-in, and contribute nothing to society until the day you grow old and die or end your own life. [ She draws two lines at the end of the second one. ] Those are also options.
no subject
What is a sidewalk, and why would it fear it? A Laguz does not know fear easily!
no subject
pretend that first 'it' was I
I didn't even notice >.>
Or maybe not exactly that. [ Yumemi picks a carrot up from the bag and chomps on it. ] You get the point I hope.
no subject
I will humor you. If there is another world, with another me, then where is it? How can I go there, and see for myself?
no subject
[ She shrugs and puts down the chalk, wiping off her fingers before getting back to her carrots. ] How should I know? I'm a trans-dimensional traveler, but even I won't mess with the flow of time. That's insane! [ The irony is thick with this one. ]

[Oh inter-dimensional lingual misunderstandings.]
Bah. Time? More useless speak about things that cannot be changed. The beorc-mun must be talking nonsense.
[The irony is wasted on Skrimir. Rhetoric was never his strong point.]
no subject
So this beorc-mun is robbing me of not only my people, but my history, as well?
no subject
I am not going to tell you not to be angry. But your mun can't alter who you really are.

I understand the idea of other worlds, general, though I don't think they are what the beorc means.

Hmm. I wonder if Gallia will follow us?

[Except he probably will be. Silly AU's.]

I, ah... think it's better I let other people tackle that 'alternate universe' thing, though. I've heard plenty of explanations now, and I still don't get it.
no subject
I cannot leave Gallia. What if my people need me? What will they think of their king if he is not there to protect them?
[Never mind that Tellius is entering a golden age of peace.]
no subject
And it's not like it can be helped, you know? Once these muns get a crazy idea in their heads, seems like there's no use fighting it. It'll happen no matter how much you kick and roar. But your people know you wouldn't leave them willingly, Skrimir, and they'll keep Gallia safe and strong while they await your return.
no subject
Mm. Yes, Gallia is strong. Surely my uncle would understand if I... [Oh how he hates this word.] relied on him a little. At least until I return. I will end this war swiftly!
no subject
Heh, I don't doubt you will. You'll probably be back in Gallia before you've even been missed! There aren't too many armies out there that can stand against the King of Beasts, after all!
Just... try not to do anything I wouldn't do, okay?

But take care of yourself out there anyway, all right? And I'll see you once we're both back in Gallia, safe and sound.

Mm. Watch yourself, in turn. Later, I want to hear more about this 'space-ship.' You must have an interesting story to tell. Perhaps over food.
