I don't think they realize what they're doing. They tend to get bored, and humans are very selfish creatures. Our ancestors survived because of this, but it does make it hard to adapt to their ways.
That's not a bad idea. We're not going to change them, so we should adapt to them like they've adapted to this interesting place.

No, I don't imagine they would. But, in this case, it's the computer we have to blame. I wonder when they'll become intelligent and try to take over like they do in the movies.
Doesn't anything that's been enslaved have the base instinct to rise above and take control of their fate? Even machines might develop a sense of self preservation if we continue advancing like this.

There's no way to tell. Apparently cellphones can talk to people, so it's possible.
