re: mun being impulsive
As I and several of your friends have already stated numerous times, it would be best for you to wait on "app"ing me somewhere. I'm pleased that you're already so fond of me, but you've yet to finish the game. And I can assure you, there's more to me than what you've seen so far.
And since I may end up remaining in your head for some time yet, it has been a while since I last ate and I'm feeling hunger. I doubt it would change my mind, but at the very least, you could bring me something to eat.
And since I may end up remaining in your head for some time yet, it has been a while since I last ate and I'm feeling hunger. I doubt it would change my mind, but at the very least, you could bring me something to eat.

AND LIKE THAT, I BRING OUT MY ONLY TALES MUSE, AN AU AT THAT.
OHSNAP AU-LUKE
I'm not surprised. Many humans that I've met so far seem to be having the same reaction as yours. But yes, I'm the Lord of Spirits, so that would make me a "big deal."
THAT'S RIGHT, THIS ISN'T YOUR AVERAGE LUKE FON FABRE!
Spirits... So that would make your world a place where Mana exists, right? Is there some sort of tree involved in that? [
wrong game, dumbass] What's Mana like? I've only ever dealt with Fonons, so I'm not really sure what the difference is.S'ALL GOOD, I WELCOME ALL SHAPES OF LUKE FON FABRE
[Goodness, this human has quite a few questions in him!] There is indeed mana, but there's no tree- Only the Four and myself. Mana allows all forms of life to exist on Rieze Maxia, and make it possible to perform Spirit Artes. I'm... afraid I don't know what a "fonon" is, so I can't tell you what the difference might be.
DAMN RIGHT
Fonons are the particles that make up pretty much everything in Auldrant. Toys, buildings, people, monsters, you name it, there's a 100% chance it's made of fonons. Anything that has fonons in it has fon slots; these things allow fonons to flow in and out of objects, and gives objects a certain fonon vibration frequency. [Doesn't look like HE's vibrating, does he?] Since everything is at its core made of fonons, everything has fon slots, and that includes Auldrant itself. The planet's ten fon slots are known as the Sephiroth, and they release fonons from within the planet's core into the world to make up the things that live on it.
Now, a long time ago, way before I was born, it was widely accepted that there were six different types of Fonons, each corresponding to a different element. In order, it went like this: Darkness, Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, and Light. When a certain amount of the same type of fonon gathered together, they would form the Fonic Sentience (my term for it, I think it works) of that kind of fonon. The different sentiences were, in the same order, Shadow, Gnome, Sylph, Undine, Efreet, and Rem. So instead of just Four Great Spirits, we have Six Fonic Sentiences. For the longest time, it was just those six, but then someone discovers a seventh fonon type, the fonon of sound.
['Phew, lecturing like this is drying my mouth out something fierce. Ah, whatever, gotta commit to this.'] The sound fonon could only be manipulated by people known as seventh fonists, and while they aren't exactly rare, people who can only use the other six experience backlash when attempting to use it. It's used for healing, but since it's also the fonon for sound, there are seventh fonists who learn to manipulate it through singing, called melodists.
Are you with me so far? Because it gets kinda strange the further in you go, and that's coming from a native.
OSHI-- LOOKIT THAT BEAUTIFUL NOVEL~
You mentioned vibrations, but I don't see any such behavior in your body. And these Fon Slots... If your world is made up of fonons, why can there only be ten slots through which the particles can leave the planet's core? In order to sustain all life, such a limitation would only impede on the ability to support the flora and fauna.
--Ah. I interrupted you. Please go on, it's all quite informative.
IS IT NOT MAGNIFICENT!?
On the subject of Fonic Sentiences, since there was one for each of the six, there had to be one for the seventh right? Thing is, nobody could actually find a concentration of seventh fonons so vast that they would gain sentience. Still, if the other six had one, it stood to reason the seventh did as well. So they named the hypothetical seventh 'Lorelei', though I couldn't tell you why.
Regardless, back to where I was earlier, while seventh fonists were special because they could heal and manipulate the seventh fonon, they could also read the future from stones that fell from the sky. [Let that sink in.] Turns out, the seventh fonon is actually a form of the planet's memory, and the planet knew well ahead of time just how things would progress. A Seventh Fonist named Yulia Jue founded the 'Order of Lorelei' in order to guard and regulate the seven items from which the planet's memory could be read, called the fonstones, so that the 'Score' for the future could be followed without fail to everlasting peace.
Now, a while into this Score, it was decided that more Fonons were going to be needed at some point or another, so someone had the bright idea of creating a ring of fonons that followed the path of the already existing ring where the fonstones fell from. What they intended to do was create a pair of fonic glyphs on the two most powerful sephiroth at both ends of the planet, so you get the widest possible range of effect. Fonons would then be accelerated out one Sephiroth and funneled into the other, speeding up the circulation of fonons until what you get is a giant tunnel shape stretching the whole world over, providing an abundance of fonons never seen before. This became known as the planet storm, and is the reason why pretty much everything went to hell.
[Well that's abrupt] Any questions before I move on?

IT'S SO SHINY I NEED TO SHIELD MY EYES
So this "score" of yours. It sounds like it could be quite dangerous. Do the humans rely heavily on the future foretold upon it? Could this reliance have caused a disruption in the harmony of your world, which then created this "planet storm" that plagues you?

FEAR MY EXPOSITION!
It would be nice to think so, wouldn't it? [shakes his head.] The planet storm was an intentional invention, and it did its job of increasing the flow of fonons from the core. What people didn't know was that doing this was actually causing the core to vibrate even faster. Because of the increased vibration, something else began to come out of the core, a poison known as the Miasma. While the stuff was filtered out of the fonons from the planet storm, direct exposure to the stuff for prolonged periods of time is fatal. This stuff was coming out of the planet itself though, and pretty soon there was nowhere to hide from it. The score, however, produced a solution: Using the Sephiroth, they would raise the continents and the crust of the planet away from the core, keeping the escaped miasma contained in an extra layer between the surface and the core known as the Qliphoth. The planet storm could keep producing more fonons, the miasma suddenly becomes a non-issue, and the score is now a necessity to the people, giving the Order of Lorelei a great deal of power as a third-party. Thus, we have the state of the world and the status quo for thousands of years to come.
[And he lets out a breath.] Most people don't really know about the existence of the Qliphoth, though. Since any instances of miasma showing up usually end in it coming and going, it wasn't considered that important to normal everyday life. The only people living up top that are aware of it are those in positions of governmental power and higher ranking members of the Order of Lorelei. There's a city sitting on liquified miasma down in the Qliphoth, guarded against the poison by glass panels, whose existence is essentially a total unknown to those not already there or are a part of the Order. This place, Yulia City, serves as a way to let people know about the Qliphoth without being exposed to the miasma. It's essentially a city that holds the secrets of the world, including score excerpts that would cause panic if exposed to the world at large.
So yeah. That's Auldrant in a nutshell. Sorry if I rambled, I'm not that good at this sort of thing.
AHHHHHHH /COWERS
There's no need to apologize. This is all very informative, and quite interesting. Thank you for explaining it to me so well.
1/2
[Excuse this kid's look of horrified shock, but, lady, you need to find some, pronto! You don't know what you're missing!]
2/2
Then it's a good thing you and I ran into each other! I'm something of an expert. [He grins up at Milla and continues:] Curry's only the best food in the whole world! You make it with meat, potatoes, onions, and carrots, and you put all that over a big plate of rice.
But you can't go throwing in any weird extra ingredients, or you'll ruin the whole thing! And you have to be extra careful not to let it get too spicy. Spice is the number one enemy of curry.

But then his description...... has her visibly drooling.]
That does sound delicious. Where can I get this dish?
no subject
Oh, it is! Chances are your mun knows of a place. They're usually pretty good when it comes to directions and stuff. But if not, I've heard they have food stalls in most big cities that sell curry by the bucketload!
Or, you know, you could just go buy the ingredients from a shop and cook it yourself.
no subject
I'm afraid I don't have the skills necessary to cook it properly. But I will ask my mun to bring me someplace where I can get some.
no subject
[He doesn't cook any.]
But, hey! Maybe if your mun finds somewhere like that, you could put in a good word for me. I've been trying to get mine to let me go for ages.
[It's literally only been a few days, but whatever Asbel. There's certainly no putting a damper on his enthusiasm for adventure.]
Oh, and you might want to do this before your mun sends you. [He makes a mouth-wiping gesture with his overruffled sleeve. Drool isn't the most attractive thing in the world. He wouldn't want Milla to embarrass herself or anything.]
no subject
[At his gesture she's confused, absently raising her arm up to mimic him. It's only once she's wiped the drool away that she understands, and again, it makes her smile a little.] Again, thank you. This seems to be something I often do when I think of food. It's a problem I've never had to face before.
no subject
[He's totally a child.]
But, you're welcome. Ha ha, See? I told you I was an expert!
[Wait. Wait a sec. HOLD UP.] What? You've never drooled before? Come on, everyone does it! Some people even drool while they're sleeping!
[This lady's weird. Almost weirder than Sophie. Maybe she has amnesia, too...??]
no subject
Never. Until recently, I've never experienced hunger or ingested food as humans do. As a spirit, there simply wasn't a need. But now I get hungry quite easily and end up drooling when I think about it.
no subject
[Asbel plz.]
So, wait a minute. You're a 'spirit'...?
[He's not completely sure what she means by that. Is it like a ghost or something? The part that makes the most sense here is Milla saying she's not human.]
[...That's. So awesome!]
Yeah, that's pretty normal. And hey, at least that's not a bad thing. I mean, now you can eat whatever you want. You should totally try as many different foods as you can! Um - just not all at once, or else you'll get a tummyache.
So I guess there's a lot of other things you've never done before, huh?
no subject
no subject
Yes. I'm the Lord of Spirits. My human appearance is merely a vessel.
[She looks thoughtful for a moment about that. Food certainly hasn't proven to be hazardous so far.] For as long as I need to, I'll certainly appreciate the simple human pleasure of eating.
More or less. There are many things that I've done, but differently than humans would.
no subject
no subject
W-wait...you're a lord, too? [Can women even be lords? This is getting really, really weird.] So why are you disguised as a human anyway? Are you trying to learn more about us or something?
[He tilts his head at her. She's definitely an oddball. But he doesn't mind. He'll never be bored for as long as he lives if he keeps meeting girls with amnesia and spirit lords who've never eaten before.] Yeah, eating's pretty great. But making friends and going on adventures together is even better!
Differently? Like what?
no subject
Yes. The Lord of Spirits. [She doesn't see why this would be at all confusing.] The physical and spiritual makeup of the human body allows for better channeling of mana into Spirit Artes, much better than would be possible as another spirit.
[Milla just nods and smiles at the eating thing. There's no denying any of that, really.] I've certainly been on quite an adventure since losing the Four.
Travelling, for example. I've never walked such long distances before. It's quite tedious and exhausting, really.
no subject
[This is all so confusing Asbel's having a really difficult time wrapping his 11-year-old brain around it all. At least he has the tact not to ask just how old she is, though.]
[And he didn't get half of that. Mana. Spirit Artes. Makeup. Ooookay moving on to something that actually makes sense!]
So if you've never walked long distances before, then how'd you get anywhere? Does it have something to do with this "Four" that you lost?
