It would be nice to see them. And the city isn't bad compared to other places I've heard about. It's...pretty quiet.

[But the whole touching thing though. Some might be ok with it and others...well...he just doesn't want to see them get hurt or sick from withdrawals.

Seriously though, it's too quiet over there.]

Indeed, from what I've heard it does seem like a rather ideal city compared to the many choices presented. Although I find it rather presumptuous of them to ask for what they do.

[Not being greeted with open hostility, it dares come out of hiding a bit, tilting its... mass...? ...at him, still waiting on an answer.]

[It's...not attacking but Yu does have his guard up as he kneels down to take a closer look.]

Excuse me but...what are you doing here?

[It gives him a quiet, hollow-sounding chattery sound in reply and dares come closer a slow inch, since he's still not being obviously hostile to it. It seems to be about as wary of him as he is of it.

But hey, he was saying something before, wasn't he?]

[Agreed, that wasn't too bad. But still.]

Let's see, that's a couple of months, right? But I bet you've met a lot of people while you were there! You're really good at that kind of thing!

[why what. don't know what you could possibly be talking about...]

Not at all. I mean... as long as everything's taken care of back home, and your friends don't mind. If we hadn't gotten rid of the Dark Hour yet, though, we wouldn't wanna leave Iwatodai.

[It's like an animal isn't it? Or at least that's what Yu thinks. Can you even pet shadows?

Everything has been taken care of before I went on the train so at least everyone is safe.

[A few older persona users, a magical girl and someone completely normal. Wait until later when he learns that Yu can summon parts of his soul out.]

[Someone must've thought this little thing was harmless, or even friendly, because it seems to've taken on that sort of disposition. And if he's going to assume it's like a pet-type animal....

People's expectations do influence the Shadows and the fog world, don't they.

It creeps toward his hand a little, looking at it, and then back up at him. Gently, it nudges his hand a bit with the top of its blobby little head.]

[It's...ok with it?

Yu slowly put a hand on its head and started to pat it. Shadows really do feel squishy but it's nice to meet a friendly one.]

It's not so bad if you have allies and friends there to help you out! Nothing scary happens there, does it?

[It moves into the pets a little more, making a quiet bwerbly sound at him. Apparently, it thinks it's nice to meet Yu, too!

After a few pettings, it twists around and seems to flop over, twisting around in the puddle of itself to show him... a pudgy-looking round shape next to its head. It seems to be belly-rubs time.

The tiny Shadow doesn't seem to be capable of speech, but maybe Yu can take his mind off what's weighing on him with its company anyway?]

[Yeah, he could.

Maybe this shadow was like a dog or a cat somehow considering the wanting of belly rubs. It's odd but when does that phase him? Shadow gets what it wants.]

[Does draining energy from bodies in order to power up generators count as scary?]

The most recent thing was a festival. There was nothing scary about that.

[The little black mass is very soft, and easily squished around with the pettings. He gets a few more encouraging sounds from the Shadow as it squirms around a little under his touch, enjoying the attention.

Maybe he could give it a name or something. It's certainly tame enough....]

[~~Unless you ask Mr. Completely Normal over here but he has capital-p Problems anyway.~~]

[He's not sure of a name for the little guy. If only he could take him home but the others in the headspace may not approve.]

[It just looks up at him, not answering that in words. He'll get a couple other little sounds as it keeps leaning into the pettings, though!

It seems to approve of his approval of it, and if one didn't know any better, they might think it was deliberately trying to be all cute for him.

What, he thinks it couldn't win over the others in his mun's headspace? Because it would try.]
