Uh, well... *He tries to think of how to explain it to a normal Mobian.* There's a traitor that I've been tying to catch in the Kingdom of Acorn. They were trying to dismantle the freedom fighters and the monarchy, but I guess they've succeeded in doing that.

Why? Do you know anything?

[He shook his head.] No, I'm sorry. Knothole kingdom was already conquered and disestablished five years ago, and it had nothing to do with a traitor.

[futuretense]

Really. That doesn't sound right. Conquered by who?

I guess we must come from different worlds. Either that, or you're from another time. That's usually how it works when something doesn't add up. [Admittedly, the thought of it never got any less strange, particularly having come from a world where the notions of "alternate universes" and "time travel" were mere fairytale at the best of times. But he'd learned even stranger things were possible here; you couldn't take anything for granted.]

...It was conquered by the Legion of Justice's Grandmaster. He was looking for a girl, the Acorn princess. He didn't find her, so he ordered everyone killed.

A different time, yeah. Though I'm not sure how I wound up finding a different place like this, I don't remember having a timestone. *But he says that last bit more to himself. As he listens Silver's expression grows more worried.*

They ordered everyone killed? That's.. terrible. Even if this isn't where I'm from, I can't just stand by if something like that is happening. I'd like to help.

[Remington seemed slightly amused all of a sudden.] Isn't that a little impetuous? You don't even know what you're up against yet.

And besides, he'd probably just send me or one of the Prelates down to deal with you and whatever cavalry you brought along, and I can guarantee that if you and I meet under different circumstances, our conversation isn't going to be nearly as civil. It's best for everyone if you don't get involved.
