I am an aberration in your world. My existence brings with it the chaos of which I have spawned. Were I to allow myself to do so, my presence will distort the reality of which you have come to expect. Perhaps irreparably. A portion of space and time that would never be the same, which would effect any and all that passes through it. Like a whirlpool of broken reality, it could twist others so that their distortions will no longer speak the truth. Or, perhaps, they may receive a font into chaos, and bear witness to the clandestine chatter of those that lie beyond what your eyes can see.
I do not know to what effect my presence would cause. Nor will I ever know.
[Kanade's hand glows white with light, but she might be able to see strings of binary code flowing through the light, before it forms the shape and material of a long blade. She does not elaborate, feeling as though the display spoke for itself.]
[And now the girl frowns. She really didn't want to fight. but then again what were you expecting, you dumb squid??]
[Her hands raise, and there is almost a pulse of wind push out from the girl. The air takes on a sickly, foreign aspect, not unlike the stale air of an abandoned home. Filled with a feeling of dread, and a presence that cannot be detected by the eyes. As though confirming this, disembodied whispers are then heard. Chatting. Murmuring. Groaning. Cackling. Whimpering. Sobbing. Suffering. More sounds begin to appear -- a ringing bell, static, electricity, other sounds that are familiar to Kanade, and others that are completely foreign. Surely this is the noise of insanity made manifest. Through it all, the squid girl's remains completely stoic, her eyes narrows and focuses on the girl before her.]
I am Yg'baladoth, the Lingering Murmur. I do not wish to destroy a creature of order, yet it is in my nature to destroy all that seeks to harm me.
Back down, lest you wish your life to continue as echo perpetual.
[The sounds startle Kanade, but all she does is take one step back with wide, fearful eyes.]
...!
[She covers her ear with her non-bladed hand in a vain attempt to block out the disturbing din.]
Murmur-san, I don't want to fight!
This was only a display... the result of the outside change imposed on my world.
[The misunderstanding is her fault, Kanade's rather bad at reading people and situations and even worse at conveying her intentions. What strikes her as simple and obvious, is quite easily taken the wrong way entirely by others.
The blade breaks away into light and numbers, vanishing just as quickly as it appeared.]
[The fearful reaction somewhat startles the squid girl too. The noise persists for a moment before seeing the blade disappears. In the next instant one hand is raised up into the air as though responding to the command, the air around Kanade rushes back a point inches from her exposed hand, and then completely disappears when she clenches it down into a fist. Disappearing into a small chime, clear and soothing.]
Well there's a difference between wanting to fight and having to fight, right? All I meant was that it didn't seem like something you were too thrilled about doing, ya know?
[From the way the silver-haired girl spoke Kanade didn't think she was thrilled by much of anything.]
[Kanade's reasons were actually similar but she would have delivered them with a bit more oomph! Wow so it really was possible to find people who were even more serious than Tsubasa.]
