Perhaps of others - though logically you would think that even they would balk at treating a King so - but I doubt even your people enjoy embarrassing themselves. Which would be the result, as well all would know who's responsible.

I take it you haven't heard of games like mylittlejamjar. Apparently the residents are no longer themselves even in some places they seem to be, like towerofanimus. And it may not be the worst thing that can happen, but it would certainly be disquieting.

My mum doesn't branch out too much. Where I am, those kinds of changes are temporary, usually only lasting a week.

Excuse you, how does that make me fortunate? I have to deal with a bajillion "plans" from my mun and whatever Powers that Be run that stinking castle. At least you can breath easy for the moment without worrying that the world will fall to pieces or your close friends'll disappear any minute!
