Do you know how cold it can be in space? No, I do not think you do. You know nothing of what I have been through. Because of him.
James T. Kirk. He shall have his day. I shall have my revenge. Something, that is rightfully mine before he marooned me on Ceti Alpha VI. Left me to die. He shall know the pain I suffered. My people among the ones who were treated like dirt.
No. He will die. I will make sure of it and you will not get in my way, mundane. Just stay out of my way and we will be at peace with one another. Hm? A generous offer, as you'd do well to take it.

Kirk. You lie. You marooned me and my crew on Ceti Alpha VI to die. The planet exploded and we were all stuck on Ceti Alpha V. Do you remember that? [He almost hissed out the words.]
no subject
[A momentary pause.] Who are you that you hate him so much?

You are wrong. Kirk did leave me there. My crew were abandoned by Kirk and left to fend for ourselves. A desolate desert planet with a harsh environment. [He paused. Why was she so keen to know about him? She would know.]
I am Khan.
no subject
A new life? [He scoffed.] We had no life!
no subject
I respected you. I trusted you to survive, to rise to the challenge. You did. I was not wrong about that. I was wrong not to realize what had happened to the system.

[Khan. No way that this is Khan. Khan is younger. And a douchebag. And on ice.]
You couldn't possibly be. We just refroze Khan.
[Where's her tricorder? She needs one right now.]
no subject
I respected you until you left me and my crew to a harsh world, devoid of all life. [Except those big, nasty bugs. Remember those, Kirk?]
Did you not ever stop to think what the implications would be? What if we did not survive?
no subject
But, she was older. A lot older.]
You cannot be here, since Carol Marcus is a lot older. Refroze? What do you mean?
no subject
I'm not in the habit of impersonating Starfleet personnel. And I mean precisely what I say. Mister Spock and Lieutenant Uhura knocked Khan unconscious and we put him back in his cryogenic unit with the rest of his augmented crew.
[Aha! Tricorder acquired! Running a scan on him now.]
no subject
Spock? Uhura? Those are the names of James T. Kirk's crew. [Aha. Was she part of the Enterprise crew? Such a fate he had in for them.]
You must be mistaken. I am Khan.

According to Starfleet logs you were not marooned, simply relocated. How is it that after the time differences, you still hold what can be called a grudge against this man.
no subject
Yes, it is very cold in space. Cold enough to freeze someone or many people to death.
Starfleet. Of course. [He smiled slowly. Always so strict with their rules. Easily broken.] I enjoy being who I am because I make my own rules. No Starfleet governs me.
Kirk left me to die. I bare more than a grudge.
no subject
Of course they are.
[Scanning... And almost drops her tricorder.]
This shouldn't be possible. [Completely ignoring the whole Spock and Spock Prime thing.]
no subject
[She gave him a curious glance. She had read of him before in Starfleet's records]
Who are you exactly? Are you known to Starfleet?
no subject
What shouldn't? That I exist? I am here and I am here to stay. No more running and hiding.
no subject
That you exist isn't what I refer to, although I still find it curious that twentieth-century Earth was even capable of augmenting humans. The problem lies in the fact that you are Khan but you aren't.
I've dealt with Khan, he's a terrorist and a murderer and we put him on ice, locked him away. He will never again see the light of day.

But the plain truth of it was, I didn't. I left you to a lush, fruitful world. Something which many disagreed with. I had no way of knowing that would happen.

Afraid I don't think we've met, though I think I can probably guess who you might be.

[It would be wrong to say that Jim hero-worships his older self, the one who has boldly gone where no Captain had gone before, but it's a near thing.]
From what I understand, the Kirk you knew left you and your people to survive on a planet where you wouldn't be a danger to anyone, rather than cart you all back to Starfleet to face a worse fate. That's a better solution even than the one we found for the Khan I ran into.
