This isn't a super-strict game, you know. I think I can change my name without people freaking out that I'm not me anymore. I mean, I got in there as an amnesiac AU version. It's pretty much expected that I'm going to do things a bit differently.

Anyway, if you're so freaked out about it, you could just let me remember my real name. ... No? Yeah, I figured as much.

What would you change it to?

Hakaze, I think. It means 'one who wears white' in my language.

[ And something about the beating of wings in Japanese, but I picked it for the sound and because it's a car name. ]

The name doesn't really matter as much as having one. Being named after the planet I'm from is awkward - no one else knows, but I do. It feels like a placeholder.

Hakaze? Huh... All right.

I guess so. Calling yourself by your homeworld's name is like a secret agent thing. You know. "Corellia, this is Skaro. Alderaan is taking out Coruscant."

I would be the worst secret agent.

Even with disguises? They can do amazing things with prosthetics.

Disguises might help. I could pass for a human... heck, I think I could pass for a woman if I wanted.

What's wrong with your old name?

It's the name of the planet I'm from. A little awkward if someone were to ask for both in the course of a conversation.

Plus, it's just a placeholder name because I can't remember my real one. And I'm tired of waiting.

Well, then maybe it's time to pick something new. You can't remember your old self -- why, that name might not even fit you anymore.

We are, but I think it's silly for a mun to try to enforce that similarity when it doesn't have to exist in every case and she isn't even a psychologist.

Maybe she's worried that you're in denial about it. It's hard to say how you'd react until it actually comes to pass.

It's kind of sweet, really. She must really care about you.

Considering the way some muns treat the people they play, I'd say you're lucky there. She could be in a rush to traumatize you instead.
