...respectfully, we both have duties which demand our time and attention, do we not? That said, I'm sure you will agree that this...frivolity has little place in either. I'm needed in Edoras--the threat of Mordor is diminished, a new king at last sits upon Gondor's throne and my people are in need of leadership.
Kindly allow me to fulfill my duty, and cast aside these "flights of fancy", as they seem to be, and let us part in friendship and mutual respect. There is much to be done in Rohan, and I am eager to see it done.
--yes, Master Meriadoc will still retain his status as one of the Rohirrim. It is our honor to have such a brave example.
