Ah, the wings. They are...vestigial, and arbitrary save for their connection to your health. Lose one? You are gravely ill. Lose two? You die. They cause a great deal of pain with very little punishment involved. From what else I've come to understand they translate language, spoken, written, etc. For example, the entire time we've been speaking, I've been using French.
