...what? Giles is actually considering a game? [
goddess_grotto]
Well, um, it's advertising neither horror nor gruesome experiments. Does it really surprise you?
Besides. It isn't as though I'm entirely unfamiliar with farming. I do own a ranch, in case you've forgotten, even if Lavinia and Sophronia tend to make themselves more welcome than I'd like. And I don't mind being outdoors, when the weather and the local assassins cooperate. They just didn't often cooperate back home.
Honestly, it sounds a bit like Luceti, without the Malnosso or the wings. It sounds quiet, and, um, I'd probably get to meet some interesting people. Or interesting spirits, at least. A few monsters, yes, but I can handle myself well enough there. Even after everything, I've still never seen a phoenix.
[Instead of wings, there'll be heart pendants. Oh, well. He can always keep it under his shirt.]
And besides, I know I'm not the only one interested. [The mun has already placed a reserve. She just didn't place a reserve for this guy.]
If your schedule works out, and you find yourself with the time...I wouldn't mind. Just, um, thought I'd mention. It would be something to do while we wait and see what happens to my body.

celebrating finally being able to afford Pao-Lin's paid account again

I might. It's, it's been quite a while for both of us, and we didn't have the best luck with them before that. [Which is to say, the games tended to close shortly after.]
But we might. It could be a good experience for both of us.
What about you?

In this case, "what happens to my body" refers to "can Angel and Faith chase out Eyghon and stop him using it to summon an army of zombies", apparently shortly followed by "are they still going to follow through on this mad plan to bring me back to life?"
It's a good feeling. I feel weird not having a paid for Giles, after all this time.
Really, um, it isn't strictly the farming that interests me. I used to keep horses, back home, and I actually enjoyed it very much. Apparently, that's a possibility again in this game.

It, ah, sounds like an interesting place. Calm even, given the places in the past...
no subject
Calm, yes. I admit, I was surprised. I didn't think any game was, these days.
Not entirely peaceful, of course. But the end of the world or getting turned into a vampire doesn't seem like it will be a matter of course. They even apparently have their own network of spirits, similar to Luceti.

It wouldn't be the first time someone gets brought back to life.
no subject
[It takes a lot for Giles to say that. Buffy got brought back to life, after all, and if anyone deserved it, it was her.
But all the same...he can't not consider it a horrible violation of everything. And the idea of someone doing the same to him is horrifying.]
Breaking the laws of nature into pieces is how it got into its current state. And, from what I understand, it's current state is teetering on the brink of destruction.

The mundanes, especially.

[At least, up until recently, Angel had at least been decent enough to keep his distance from Giles. It had been a happy state of affairs that Giles wishes would continue.]
As I said, the mundane and I seemed to have reached...well, something of an equilibrium.

[With "girl" being defined in this case as being under twenty five. Other than that, Giles has found that he tends to have very little luck overall.]
Well, um, it was included in the Council training. [Even the Council wasn't naive enough to believe that every Slayer or Potential would be cooperative about their destiny.
The lessons just didn't really stick in Wesley's case.]
no subject
Oh. Well, then hopefully if she takes you to this game, it might work out this time around then?
I'm in a couple of games myself, one of them is smaller though, the other she just recently apped me to.
no subject
[And, if it falls through again, well...he'll just be right back where he started. No better off, and no worse, at least until the comic updates a bit more. It's a bit strange that Giles finds that comforting, now, but there you have it.]
Does she? What sort of places are they, then?
no subject
I only recently arrived at
I was able to make do with 100 icons for her in a pinch, but 15? No effin' way.
[Pao-Lin, why...]
no subject
[That is still an idea Giles approaches with some hesitation. But it's for very personal reasons, and he knows now that those reasons don't apply across all worlds.
So he tries not to show his apprehension, and just show interest instead.]
It's, um, it's a fascinating opportunity, especially if you come from a world without any. How are you faring at it so far?

Do you draw very much, then? [It seems an odd ability to get, if you're not an artistic type.]
Re: I was able to make do with 100 icons for her in a pinch, but 15? No effin' way.
Straw hats are, um, surprisingly good in warm weather, however. At the least, if they get blown away, it's no great loss.
[...up to a point.]
no subject
Well, mostly paint, but yeah, I do draw as well. Which is why I was putin Freyr house and given that ability over the other one.
no subject
So are you just gonna keep horses, or are you going to grow vegetables and stuff too? [Of course she'd be interested in the food.]
no subject
Giles is a lot older than Pao-Lin, though, and with age tends to come thinking on things that don't normally really ever come up.]
I suppose it depends on how much space I can get. I, um, I don't have very much experience with plants.
...if it weren't for Link and Grune, I don't think the willow tree at the memory garden would have lasted three months.
no subject
[He knows several versions of the story of Rapunzel, of course, including the bit where she has ridiculously long blonde hair.
This is the first time he's heard it referred to in quite that fashion. Almost like it has magic of its own.]
no subject
[Please don't dreak out, Giles. :< It's. Not all that weird. At all. Really.]
no subject
...
...Giles certainly looks surprised, and looks surprised for a few seconds.
But, he's seen a lot of very weird things, and so "freaking out" really doesn't happen anymore. As soon as he realizes that he's looking thrown, Giles gives a slight shake of his head.]
O-Oh. Um...no. No, I won't.
[That counts as "not freaking out"...right? At the least, it was an honest effort.]
I confess, I had wondered why you kept your hair quite so long.
no subject
Oh, yeah, well...if I cut it, it loses its power and turns brown...
[She shifts her hair, revealing a short darker strand near the nape of her neck amongst the blonde.] So, that's why....its a gift that needed to be protected. Why I...never left the tower.
no subject
I'm not really good with plants, either. I tried to grow some vegetables indoors but I kept forgetting to water them.
[Though considering how extensive her Hero work is, in some ways this isn't surprising.]
