You want to send me to a turtle? I wish I could say that would be the weirdest place I've ever been but it wouldn't be. From what I've learned of this place already, it looks like they could use the help. And not just the shadow-controlling kind. I may not be a therapist but I'll do what I can there.

I don't mind the lack of familiar faces either. Well, close familiar faces anyway. I'm not sure Kyle will be pleased to see me and I'll be avoiding Batman if I can help it, thanks. And I doubt Superman and Superboy even remember me but it doesn't matter. Of course I wouldn't mind if Jennie, Damon, Al, or Dad showed up there too. And don't get any crazy ideas about trying to find a Raven or Marcie to join up. I've seen you reading those old comics and that is one mess no one needs.

Wait. You haven't decided whether or not you're going to send me or someone else? Maybe that's something you should work on.

I don't know, a turtle sounds like it might be pretty high up on the list of strange places.

[Todd's guarded right now too.] How bad is it? The mun's only given me a brief run down and said there's a kid I might be able to help.

It is pretty high up there but alien cities and other dimensions rank higher.

Really? [He smirks a little.] I figured alien cities would have been common for you. It's in the job description, after all.

They're still weirder than a giant turtle city.

I just don't know, man. I feel like if I showed up on an alien world, I'd be surprised but it's just another alien world. You know, if I was pulled on those kinds of missions often.

But a giant turtle just sounds ridiculous.

Well, keep in mind that my trips to alien worlds happened mostly before I was used to that sort of thing. Back when I was still new at this.

About as ridiculous as a giant talking panther or a man that turns into a shadow?

I know you would, Dad. I won't be entirely alone out there though.

You know I don't think we're that ridiculous when stuff like Superman and Green Lanterns are pretty much the norm. [And he's taking a moment to light a cigarette.] Not to mention how many crazy threats we've dealt with.

But yeah, a giant turtle with a city on its back is pretty high on the ridiculous scale, and pretty close to us on the cuteness one too.

Superman and Green Lanterns are more ridiculous than us? [He smiles a bit.] Oh, the threats are on a whole other level of nuts.

[A brow is arched.] We're on a cuteness scale now?

You should stay close to Kyle. He's a good kid.

Just a little bit. They're way more overpowered, along with all the psycho threats.

[Tom just laughs.] I am at the very least. I mean, come on, my fuzzy butt is adorable.

[He frowns for a moment.] We don't get along as well as you might want, Dad.

Some would say I'm overpowered too, Tom.

[Todd laughs too.] I wouldn't say adorable.

Fine, you can be ridiculous too. I'm not overpowered in any sense of the word, though.

[He raises a brow.] Oh? What would you say, then?

When compared to normal people you might be. And you beat us all in fur power.

Hot fits you better. Damon said sexy last time he was going on about other hot heroes.

[borntobewildcat]

Oh yeah, because my amazing furriness is totally going to save the day eventually.

[And Tom is still giving Todd a look, but he smiles.] I can live with sexy.

One day we'll come across a villain threatening the world who can only be stopped by their allergy to cats.

I thought so.

[borntobewildcat]

I'm sure, and Pops' B.O. and Catwoman will beat me to it.

[firstlanternsson]

[Todd just shakes his head.] I doubt it. Ted's not a cat and Catwoman isn't really in our same line of work.

Batman with a can of cat dander bat-spray, then.

We don't know much of what's going on, but it's not worse than anything we haven't faced before.
