[LOUD NOISES!

This unusual creature in a red robe responds with a loud chirp, sounding somewhere between a flute and birdsong. She doesn't know what all the excitement's about, but she'll respond to the noise with more noise and run an enthusiastic circle around Kintaro, unintentionally wrapping him up in her long scarf in the process.]

Heh, nice to see someone around here gets along with their mun.

[Kintaro, upon seeing the mysterious crature, goes entirely still; transfixed to the point of not even realizing that there was a scarf wrapping him up until it was already too late.]

Aahh!!! [The drifter emits a high-pitched shrieking noise. It's very manly.]

W-w-what...???

Huh?

Is it really that uncommon..?

Unfortunately. It comes from the muns treating us poorly.

Mine was usually ok to me but we've had some...issues.

[Oh! That noise almost sounds like the noises she and the others make!

She chirps happily again, trotting around to his front to get a closer look at the strange creature similar to herself, and yet so alien at the same time. So close, there's barely a foot between his face and her nearly featureless own. There's curiosity in those glowing eyes. Curiosity and amusement, and she emits a small chirp in response to his question.]

[Kintaro pauses; watching the strange creature trot around happily until it comes around to face him. ...It's not... really... that scary, now that he takes a moment to really look at it. Sure this being almost resembles a ghost with the way that cloth flies around- but at the same time, it's actually... kind of interesting to look at!]

[Did it just.... respond to his question? What is this? Maybe a person in some kind of cosplay?]

[...But those legs... they're so pointy.... And there aren't any feet! Ahhh; so many questions!]

[Kintaro stares into those glowing red eyes for a moment before responding in kind.] U-uh.....

....Chirp?

Your muns treat you poorly, huh....

[A pause] Oh; actually, now that you mention it... Mine kinda messes with me a lot too! Haha! [Kintaro gives a goofy laugh.]

[Rubbing the back of his neck.] Buuut..... I guess I forgive her. Though things get tough sometimes, they're often very educational!

[Kintaro blinks; then smiles widely] WOW, HEY!!!

[And here she comes, arms flung out wide out of no where embracing one of her super old buddies here in Dear-Mun verse!]

[Voice cracking slightly and with a big doofy grin on his face as usual, the man wisely decides to watch his hands as he politely pats her on the shoulder in turn.]

U-um, well, you know how it is! Just kinda drifted around a bunch of places. Wanderers like myself tend to get around a lot, heh hah hah...!

[She lets go and rubs the back of her neck.] So where now? Has your mun got any real plans for you or are you just gonna continue doing the wandering thing?

[Kintaro smiles; subconsciously mirroring her body language as he rubs the back of his neck as well.] Where now? ...Let's see...

[He thinks about it for a moment.] You know what? I'm really not sure!

My muns says she wants to play me somewhere, and is looking, but... [Whispering] Between you and me- her plans don't usually end up going as planned.

[Kintaro straightens] As of right now, I'm mostly just wandering around places like these, where I can meet a bunch of people. Memes as stuff, you know?

What about you?

Well there's plenty of games out there, They'd all be pretty lucky to have you there.

[She grins] Well I'm still at Ink City, Things have been getting kinda crazy around there lately you wouldn't believe all the crazy stuff I've been through and would you believe it this week I only went and got attacked by a wolf of all things. [She gestures to her bandaged hand]

Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like if things were quiet for a change, but then I'm like "nahhh" I mean - can you imagine how boring it'd be for me?

What did you learn?

I feel like when ever I take breaks, most of the time I don't learn anything at all. [He feels like he does at the time, but most of it adds up to a whole lot of nothing.]

Well... It's kinda hard to put into words.

But, I guess the most important thing that I learned is that... I still have a lot of things to learn!

That realization made me really happy. I don't think I'm ready to settle down anywhere and hang up my bicycle gloves just yet! [Kintaro chuckles.]

Attacked by wolves??? [Kintaro pales at the thought; an expression of concern crossing his features as he gets a look at the female's hand.]

M-miss Saft, are you really okay in a place like that!?

I'll be fine Kintaro, Ink City's weird like that...even if I died I'd wind up back in the ink well again all healed up.

[It doesn't help that the blood in her body has been changed entirely to a strange inky black substance either. Then again everyone in the city has gone through the same thing.] It hurts but I'll manage until it heals.

[Kintaro's brow only furrows more.]

Maybe... Maybe your mun will consider sending you somewhere safer, if you ask her real nicely!

She's really not wanting to place me anywhere else Kintaro, Besides...I have friends in Ink City who'll look after me.

Maybe you could come there too? I know I'd feel a little safer if I had an old friend around, even if we had to meet each other all over again from the start. I have a feeling I'd still want to be a good friend to you Kintaro.

[Kintaro blinks.] ...If you want me to, miss Saft, I'd be glad to!

But... I'm not too sure about my mun. She doesn't usually do so great in "real games".

It'll be fine Kintaro. The game doesn't move too fast anyway and everyone moves at their own pace.

My mun says she'd really like to see more of you around though. But it's entirely up to your mun of course.

Huh. Well, my mun just got finished looking over the game's rules and premise. She seems kinda interested...

I think everyone should learn that lesson...I learned it the hard way, but. I suppose I'm a better person for it.

[Kintaro nods in agreement.] Lessons learned the hard way are often the most educational of all!

[The man smiles; a somewhat reflective smile.] Ah, I used to have a motorbike too. But then I traded it in... for the Mikazuki 5! [Kintaro beams, with all the joy of a proud parent. You'd think he was talking about some expensive sports car rather than his simple pink bicycle.] She's a really great bike! There's nothing quite like the feeling of getting somewhere, using your own power!

[Nodding] I'm a freeter. A freeter's a guy like me who travels from place to place, taking odd jobs. I've been drifting all over Japan for the past 6 years!

[Getting somewhere using your own power, huh?]

That sounds great! I've been trying to rebuild my life for some time, doing just that. It's a little hard but I don't think anything feels greater than that. Getting places and changing lives with your own two hands.

I would have loved to be you when I was younger... But I travel a lot now. My life doesn't sound quite so exciting as yours does though. Do you enjoy working like that?

[Here Kintaro goes again; becoming loud once more as he becomes swept up in emotion now that he has someone to ramble about the joys of "studying" to.] I REALLY love it! Even though it's challenging a lot of the time, that's what makes it so rewarding when I finally accomplish something! I never take on any jobs that don't interest me at least a little, so no matter how hard the job is, I can always dedicate myself to it fully!

[All those lives wasted to teach him a lesson. Not like he had wanted it, but of course, that's not something this nice monsieur needs to hear.

He laughs though, the enthusiasm reminds him of himself. Just a few short years ago.] I always thought it was a waste to spend your life doing something you don't like. My friend...she almost got her whole life taken away, but she's quite the pianist. It's an honor to hear her play...doing something she loves, she really can put her whole heart into it. [That's alright Kintaro, he's rather teary thinking of it himself.] I don't think there is any other way to work but to enjoy what you do and give yourself to what you're doing.

I don't think that anyone decides to reshape their entire life without having experienced something strong enough to "wake them up", right? The past can't be helped, but at least we can move forward. I think people who have the courage to take their lives into their own hands and mold a new one are the strongest of all.

[Kintaro smiles after listening to the story, then nods his head.] Listening to her play must be a real treat. The sound of someone pouring themselves into what they love is always really beautiful!

We should make sure that we're doing the same with our own goals. We'll give it our best, right?

Uh... A-actually....

[Embarrassed] ...She has this really strange notion that I... Well, that my character is naturally going to be a little too much... for a "PG-13" community... h-heh heh...

And she looks so happy doing it too...Perhaps if you make your way out of Japan and to Paris sometime, you can hear her play.

[That smile is so infectious, he can't help but return it.] Of course, monsieur. Perhaps then we can spread that kind of idealism to the world and not just our corners of it.

I wouldn't worry too much about that Kintaro!

[Hand waveyness goes here. You really are silly.] As long as there's nothing way, WAY just not right you'll be totally fine! Besides I can't think of anything you'd do in Ink City that would be frowned on there.

[Because let's face it other than Rapunzel. She and Saft and the Kratt brother's friends are the only humanish looking females in the city. You mostly have Pokemon and ponies and giant robots otherwise.]
