I do not understand how you can forgive so readily. If anyone were to deny me a chance to speak, I would have their hands as paperweights, at the very least.

There's hardly any use in cutting off hands over petty matters, and it definitely is pointless to hold grudges over them.

[He may be giving Bilbo a look that says he hasn't quite gotten over that.]

It boils down to the same thing. A difference in perspective, though ours was obviously much more serious. But... [He nervously fiddles with the bead in his hair braid.]

[Thorin gives him a gruff grunt in response. Bringing up the Arkenstone incident may not have been the best choice. For as much as he cares about Bilbo, that betrayal still stings a little.]

[He sighs. Fine, there's one way he knows of to make things a little better. Bilbo moves over, enveloping the dwarf in a nice cuddly hobbit hug.]

Aye. Paper weights sound about right.

[He stiffens initially, not wanting to let go of his foul mood, but Bilbo's hobbit charms win out. He doesn't quite return the hug, but he does let himself lean into it, nosing into the crook of Bilbo's neck and sighing.]

Many assume that scribes are female when some are male.
