Well, I suppose it would have been too much to ask for you to dust me off a little more thoroughly before applying? No? I thought not.
Although while you are here and listening to me, there are ground rules to set. I understand that you treat the man you already have at this game very poorly; I won't tolerate it happening to me. I'm certain you know that, but sometimes these things must be spelled out, and I'd prefer there be no room for misunderstanding.
Are we at agreement? Excellent. I'm glad we had this discussion. So long as we respect one another, this will go well, won't it?
[She smiles and claps her hands together once.] Now then! We have that settled. I would love to know more about the 'game' I am going to, if you would please. What are the people like? French? English? Aristocrats? Peasantry? Do tell; I'm positively dying from curiosity! And I should really prepare myself for whomever I may be interacting with, should I not? I hope masquerades are still in style. It's always such fun to not know who one is speaking with!
