I wish it was that simple. You've got to look out for contradictions in the witness's testimony to defend your client. You've also got to present evidence at the right time... it's all about poking holes in the witness's testimony.

Well... yeah! Sometimes it is impressive! When you get into a heated court battle with tons of objections flying around, it gets pretty intense. Of course, in the end it all comes down to the evidence and the testimonies, so it doesn't really matter how impressive you are sometimes.
