Yes, thank you for reminding me of my old issues. I'm quite glad I got to develop out of that whole stepford smiling thing.

...okay, MOSTLY develop out of that, but at least I vent!

You should finish that reapp though. You know how some of those guys are. I swear some of them wouldn't know a good vent if they were crawling through air ducts.

Sounds like a lot of memories being dredged up.

Pretty much. No one I know has seen him in years. I've barely had to think about him.

I get the feeling he's not someone you want around.

I do a lot of reading, although I haven't heard the term before. Still, try me.

He's my father. Sort of. I'm not sure if he's the 'technically' father or that'd be Danny or Jack. It's harder to tell because I wasn't born, I was created in a lab. Which is kind of where a lot of our problems come up since he can use that to justify a lot of his psychosis.

The clothes? I admit they're ... strange, but I don't quite understand your meaning.

[That's ... that's either magic beyond anything he thought was even possible, or it's ... it's some other second option he has no idea of. He's from an age where the standard weapon is the sword.]

Timelines. This place kind of takes timelines and just makes it one big knot. Science fiction is a term that's going to be...a couple of centuries ahead of you, probably. Science fiction is...kind of trying to explain how magic does something really amazing. Not quite like that, but it's close enough.

Cloning is a popular concept in science fiction. To create a copy of another human. Or just creating a human, depending what the process is being used for.

By the time I was created, it was only really done with animals, but there were a lot of problems, and it wasn't done a whole lot. No one wanted to try with humans, because it wasn't refined and a bunch of really confusing questions I don't get.

My father is a genius and he was working with things most scientists hadn't considered to be 'real' until just a little bit before I was made. It was more adaptable to work with.

Unfortunately, he was trying to make a copy of another human. I ended up being more of a 'creating a human' process. I still haven't figured out how I ended up a girl.

Creating copies of people ... this is a ... a rather tremendous thing to learn. It's .... it's fantastic, but I have trouble accepting it as real.

It makes me wonder what else is possible ... [He can't help but smile at the thought of it all.]

It's very real. Very hard and there were some problems that had to be fixed later. But I know in other places in the timeline knot, it's considered commonplace.

There's very little that isn't possible. It's just a question of having access to the means to do so. Creating lives, reviving the dead, traveling the stars, giving great gifts and talents to people.

That's incredible ... I wish I could see what all of this is like. It'd be ... it'd be a nice change, something fantastic. Where I'm from, things aren't what you'd call wonderful right now.

A game would probably do it. Maybe harder to see the wonders yourself, but there would be stories and maybe one day. Or you could go to a game with that stuff. I know there's a number of games with space ships involved. Or even in a more 21st century setting. Even Thusia has some advanced technology, it's just been grown over.

How bad is it?

Hmm ... who knows, I might be due for some fun.

War, a vicious idiot of a king my father has allied my family with, my youngest brother's lost his love, and he's just one of the many good men to die recently. That, and imagine the people who are suffering because of this, especially when all these miracles simply don't exist at home.

...sadly, war still exists. People just use the new marvels to change the tactics.

[Frowning.] I'm not sure why. No one seems to really enjoy it, but they keep doing it. Life should be easier, and there should be good people all over, but it keeps happening. [It really is beyond her. She knows it happens, but she can never get the why.]

Ah ... I guess it was a little overly-optimistic for me to hope that people had moved past, war.

I agree with you. With all my heart I do. But the sad truth is that people fight. Be the reasons good or bad, it's just a part of life. Hopefully, some day people will move past it. Until then, I say you save the fighting for when there's something worth it.

Haven't really encountered a world to do that yet. But I suppose that'd be a world without wishes then.

But I hope I can see a world like that one day.

I do. Well, any serious fighting. Sparring matches are fun though I think those are different. But I like to avoid letting things go on too long when it's serious, other people could get pulled in and that's always dangerous. If something is lasting that long, there's not many who'd turn the tide in my favor.

Very noble of you. I wish more people in my homeland had that sense.

I've only ever been in one fight myself.

It seems like a lot of problems would be solved if people knew how to pick and choose a fight. Or just have a better grasp of violence in general.

I was taught how to fight since day one. The boy I was supposed to be a copy of was a great warrior and imperfections aside, I did have his same potential and Vlad wanted to use that. With the problems left over from the process, I was also taught how to fight conservatively. Know what you're getting into, pick and choose when to fight, find the ways to end it quickly. Even after I was fixed, I had to go under a powercap shortly afterwards. So again, pick and choose.

Enough picking and choosing and it just seems unnatural to throw around power if I don't really have too. And having to pick enough times to fight, really not that fond of actual brutality.

I'm inclined to agree.

I do hope you hold back your power for more than just convenience.

That would be a challenge you'd lose. I pretty much grew up around a bunch of cultures. [Plus nicknames and ghosts.] I had a magic trick for really fast travel for a while.

Well that seems to be a lot of things. Although I can't complain. I have a good life. My family lives and rules the most prosperous area in the Seven Kingdoms. We live well, as do the people with us.

[Insert the type of history lesson only a true scholar would be able to deliver right here, because he can go on for hours on the subject of Westeros, it's history, it's cultures ...]

[At least he will have an attentive student. Not being able to go to school and trying to catch up on the twelve years she never actually lived made her very adapt at learning binges.]

... And that, in a nutshell, is Westeros.
