[Never one well accustomed to disguising fury, his boggy, amphibious eyes are dark and burning. The fingers of his right hand twitch at his side, itching perhaps for the ubiquitous cane that's accompanied him for so long.]

He's never thought much of his own appearance, Dark One or not, which was probably why he never bothered to hide his true form, but after Mr. Gold, who was more normal, less beastly, perhaps Rumpelstiltskin is just the slightest bit embarrassed to be seen this way. By her. Or perhaps he simply never means to let her see him when he's angry. She worries. He worries, especially now that her time has become something he waits for her to offer, rather than expects. It could be both things at once.]

[His voice is low, the harder consonants in his speech clipped and terse.]

[How he manages to look down his nose at her when they're of fairly equal height, one will never know.]

Seems to me it would be a good deal less complicated if they took you back then. Nothing to forget if it hasn't happened yet, after all.
