You interrupted me for something as pointless as this? Ugh. I sincerely hope you have no intentions of involving me in one of those "games."

In any case, I suggest you find someone else to bother. Time is money, and I don't have enough of the former to spare on someone like you or this nonsense of yours!

Your's interrupted your business and mine interrupted my travels. They'll do as they wish.

But, wouldn't you say that this is interesting?

Don't be so quick. She's probably working harder than you realize!

[Besides, after a definition, he didn't work either.]

Annoying as she may be for you, that doesn't preclude any of this from being interesting.

[Piers returned the sentiment with a warm smile and a firm shake. Though a sailor rather than a businessman, he still knew his manners.]

Piers. It's good meeting you.
lost_sailor: (neutral -- the sailor)

ffft. 15 is never enough!

[personal profile] lost_sailor 2012-12-08 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Warm or not, a smile was a smile. Piers was glad that Garrett chose to ask instead of making a conclusion on his own.]

I am a sailor, if that's what you mean.

How about yourself? You seem like someone who's familiar with judicial or other political duties.

[Though not one himself, he's dealt with enough Senators to recognize a few traits.]
lost_sailor: (the captain -- stern but kind)

oh wow!

[personal profile] lost_sailor 2012-12-09 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
A useful combination.

[Because, to his understanding, there were merchants to the north who also served as local politicians. The recounted adventures from Isaac and his crew were more than just exciting to hear--they were informative.]

I don't have a mind for business or politics myself, but I have to ask. Do your senators decide on actions that seem...petty?
lost_sailor: (meh -- do i look angry)

oh dear

[personal profile] lost_sailor 2012-12-11 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
[That sounded...familiar.]

Are they the same sort that manage to stay in office for a lifetime and take exactly that long to set a motion into action?
lost_sailor: (the captain -- stern but kind)

[personal profile] lost_sailor 2012-12-11 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
...you have my sympathies.

[It sounded worse than the politicians of Lemuria.]

[Piers nodded.]

I can't say that I've had any experience with scandals myself, but dealing with the Senators in my homeland has taught me how to deal with men of similar status in other parts of the world.

A place that's very far away from here.

[It was only because Piers had no wish to be called a liar.]

Of course! How else can anyone learn to sail?
lost_sailor: (smile -- content)

[personal profile] lost_sailor 2012-12-18 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
It is, though I prefer the beauty of the sea more.

It's also the adventure: none of know what's beyond the horizon until we get there.
