[Matthew looks at his handler with a mixture of strangled fondness and quiet annoyance. He never did like it when she applied to games because until the results were in, she was usually incoherent in her head.]

But I have to be certain of something: Are you actually sure have everything in order for the applications now?  Are you certain of this or are the late nights due to the combination of school and your lack in discipline finally catching up with you? A sleep deprived mind can trick the eyes.

You're being a tough crowd today, handler. You wound me with your inability to be coherent with me at the moment. Really. Still on the bright side for you: I suppose this tickles your fancy considering the month this will be if things go according to plan.

[Hint: It was December. And by the tone of his voice and the look of his face, it doesn't sound like it tickles his fancy at all.]

In her own way. [Which wasn't a lot but she tried and she was pretty young too so he usually let her off.] She likes having us play charades with her when the others and I are trying to figure out what she wants from us but yes. She's more eloquent than this.

I just hope she calms down soon over the application process. It's rather embarrassing to observe.

It's fun now and then but when she tries to explain arcs to us that's when it gets messy. The others think she's a sweetheart. I think she's a goofball who needs to have her sugar taken away from her.

[He scratched the back of his head, chuckling a bit.] Actually a bit of yes and a bit of no. I got in just yesterday and it was rather messy for all of us. I feel bad for one of the girls who had to calm our handler down.

...Arcs? [Which probably isn't a good question to ask, if it's 'messy' to explain, but he's only heard the word in passing, and he's sure what he thinks it means isn't what this guy is talking about.]

Arcs. Over-reaching plots she wants us to do in an attempt to achieve character development for us. [Which had a lot of detail and pantomiming can only do so much.

His smile becomes a little bit brittle the question but he shrugs good-naturedly.] No. Not really. Which is the entire point. She's tossed me there to push me out of my comfort zone as usual. Being stuck under the sea is rather disconcerting when you originally came from the U.S.
