You're just going to get bored of me again, aren't you?

[ Shifting slightly, loyal Cheese-kun resting between her breasts. ]

Well, I won't stop you. But don't forget the promise you made.

[Well well well. If it isn't his beloved accomplice. She's a bit late, admittedly, fortunate enough to not be in the game he's enduring. But he's died and now supposedly is back from the grave.

Is this C.C. even his? Or is she one from an alternate timeline or reality? Either way, for once, she's more a welcome sight than not. A part of him misses their banter, their deep conversations, philosophical questions and constant pressing on each other's mental complexes.

For now he's content with just saying hello.
]

You're a difficult woman to grow bored of. Your mum must be especially hard to please if she's done so in the past.

[Sarcasm has its place, my dear. And of course you're late and he's terribly punctual -- though somehow you always manage to show your face right in the nick of time.

Of course he doesn't expect anything more or less of her. She wouldn't be C.C. if she actually acted pleased about seeing him after all that, it's bit of a betrayal, he imagines; so, he could hardly blame her if she was even a little disgruntled. He only hoped she hadn't cried for him.

That would be entirely too upsetting for him to picture. She's got some humanity ,though, more than he does (probably).
]

Would you prefer an insult instead?

[Entertain you? What makes you think he's not so selfish this is to entertain himself? It's been droll so far, being trapped in an underwater prison after his death and he's plotting a great many things in light of it. Afterall, there are some things that simply should not be toyed with.

Death is one of them. It made it almost feel meaningless he'd given his life now that he had it back.
]

You know I'm very capable.

[But he doesn't want to, rather, he's no interest in actually hurting her feelings (and he really could if he wanted.)]

You'll have to be more specific, I'm afraid. Something on yours?
machiavellingly: (08I waste for these)

[personal profile] machiavellingly 2012-11-04 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
[So you have. And so has he. Honestly, he hates to admit himself he's even grown fond of your company -- which is why it is sorely missed. You're one of the few he can talk to that are on par with him. On his level, so to speak, an equal... not a pawn. ]

You wound me.

[His tone is dry (still bordering on sarcasm). Too much has been on his mind as of late -- and he knows he can talk to her about anything. Whether or not he will is another matter entirely.]

I see. [His eyebrows would raise at that if he wasn't in such a mood.] You seem as though you're quite alright. Should I be?
machiavellingly: (09Emotionally sucking life)

[personal profile] machiavellingly 2012-11-04 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Why envy such a thing? You were human once, too, weren't you? But he's so much more prone to fits of emotion than other people, he thinks, most of which is intense (albeit somewhat short-lived on some accounts) and tiresome. Emotions are what drive humans to do the things they do.

It's a little frightening, really, what one could do when controlled by them.
]

You do seem well. [He admits slowly, staring off at nothing for just a few seconds before his gaze drifts to her. His brows furrow a little -- an invitation? He almost doesn't want to take it. But it doesn't mean that he's admitting defeat by doing so.

So he comes and joins her, he doesn't lean back, instead he leans forward and rests his elbows against his knees. He threads his fingers and looks thoughtful opposed to offended. His eyes still go to focus on her.
]

No, I'm not. I stopped being a child a long time ago, I think. That aside, what time and reality are you from?

[He feels tired but he doesn't want to divulge something that could potentially alter her timeline either.]

[They didn't all live happily ever after, either. Things do need to come to an end, he understands that, understands the balance and understands the cost of keeping it. He paid it once and he'd pay it again gladly if it was necessary.]

Hn.

[Is the only small sound she gets. It's one of acknowledgement, at least, that he understands what she meant -- but even when he tries he's not in the right mind-set of thinking up a comeback for it.

Your Majesty.

That's the part that makes his head turn and he stares at her for several long moments -- he smiles and then it fades, he seems a little sad and not at all willing to tell her the outcome of things.

She knows what's going to happen. And all the same, he can tell her anything -- nothing can truly change what they're planning and he doesn't think she'll really want to, either, even if she had the means.
]

Not anymore, I'm afraid. [He's relieved, he exhales and then slowly leans back to rest against the sofa.] So there's no need to call me that, even in jest -- just 'Lelouch' is fine.

[It's bit of a dreadful silence that hangs between them for longer than he'd like.]

Forgive me, I'm a bit out of sorts currently.

[And he hoped that it would remain that way for a few hundred years at least. Long after his body had rotted away and all those he knew passed on. But hope was a fragile thing to cling to and he knew better than to put stock in it.

C.C. is a very beautiful woman even if she's cold. No, not just cold. Jaded. One who's as longlived as she is would become that way quickly, no doubt and he didn't like thinking about the things she'd witnessed. He'd seen them as well.

In a fairytale, she would have been the beautiful princess whose hand was sought after by all the land. In the same fairytale, she was the witch they tried to burn at the stake for her ability to make them love her.
]

You're not very good at lying, you know.

[Why does that make him smile again? Hn.]

It worked, if that's what you want to hear. However, the place I'm currently in... well, I suppose the devil himself couldn't have devised something better. An underwater prison where even those who have died are drawn from worlds and eras one could hardly come up with in their dreams.

[And you know where this is going.]

The resident God deems it so.

[Saying that sounds silly. Why? Because he never truly believed in an all powerful being capable of doing anything remotely similar. But he thinks it might be punishment.]

There is no escape and the residents are not willing to divulge anything of use. Even with my Geass I've gleaned nothing.

[You should be. He thinks he may be going mad. Perhaps this place is the hell that whatever higher power there was deigned to put him in. He supposed he deserved it, were that the case, but of course he'll fight it. What makes you think he'll simply lay down and let whatever self-righteous being there is trample on him?]

The difference between then and now was that... I knew Britannia, I knew their weaknesses and their strengths. This God has none that I can exploit yet. And you're also forgetting that I had the Geass to use effectively then. As it stands now, if my calculations are correct, I can only withstand using it twice a week and some of the residents are immune.

[This has turned into a very serious talk he didn't want to have.]

I will act but not without establishing myself a bit more first.

[He pauses, bringing his fingers to the bridge of his nose and pressing there -- a migraine caused by stressed is coming on.]

I don't want to lead another revolt, C.C.. I've done my part... I should be allowed my chance to rest.

[There's madness and then there's... well... madness. Certainly he'd done things in the past that easily put him in a category he'd rather not really think about (yet he's forced to because of this damned woman). He wasn't looking to beg for pity or sympathy.

But a little understanding might have been nice.
]

You wanted to hear it, remember that.

[His tone turns sour then. Forget it, she's a witch, not a princess and he might as well forget he had any fondness at all. He's remembering why he gets so irritated at everything she does.

She's right to an extent, of course. That might be why. And he's offended.
]

Moping?

[Of course he's not in any state of mind to accept being reprimanded by you of all people. He's tense again.]

Do you think I won't? Just because I do not want to do something doesn't mean I won't. I always do what must be done.

[Kallen remembers talking to this C.C. before, though it's been months since their last encounter and her memories of their conversation were rather vague. Or perhaps it's that way out of choice? Who knows.]

Who could possibly be bored of you?

[Leave it to Kallen when it comes to displaying sarcasm.]
