His enthusiasm seemed more genuine when we first met. After Albedo's death, he was more subdued and his behavior seemed less like that of a child, even outside of life or death situations. On top of that, his reaction to seeing Albedo again after a full year proved that he still hadn't come to terms with his death. I can only imagine how losing Gaignun affected him.
