Martin Luther King Jr. was an activist who attempted to advance the civil rights movement using nonviolent civil disobedience. He was assassinated on April 4th, 1968.

Perhaps personally, he would have preferred to live longer, but his death and what he accomplished in life effected the lives of millions.
