[She's never actually read a story to anyone else before. There was never anyone who was there to listen, who wasn't afraid of her. Or wasn't dead.
The ghosts she spoke to when she was alive usually didn't want to hear her read. This ghost boy must be different, and surely a ghost, because there's clearly no other explanation to what he could be that would make the tiniest bit of sense.
She sits in front of him and opens the book, this book which she's never seen before, and starts reading aloud. Looks like she'll be getting a new story too.]


Once upon a time, there was a boy and a girl. They were brother and sister, and though they were twins, they were very different.
The boy was very smart, and loved adventure. He was brave and determined, and paid close attention to things a lot of other people did not. Because of this, he was good at solving riddles and mysteries, even better than most of the grown-ups.
The girl was full of energy, and always looked on the bright side. She was outgoing and curious, and loved to wear colorful sweaters. Some people thought she was silly, but she was always happy, and had fun while trying to help everyone she could.
One fateful summer, their mommy and daddy sent the boy and girl to live up north with their great uncle, in a strange and magical town called Gravity Falls...
