So there's a place you're curious about that would make me human.

Would that mean I would have everything a human does? My own morals that aren't programmed into me? A soul even, hm?

Someone like me doesn't wish or dream about things like that. I can't. But I will say the idea of experiencing being truly 'alive' would be an interesting experiment. Even I can agree with you on that.

Not as I am now. You're right. But if I were to become human then wouldn't I by definition acquire one?

[Humans had souls after all. Or so it was assumed. This thing all humans had but couldn't feel or touch or even see with any sort of instrument of medical or scientific purpose. But it was just... believed, understood that humans had this thing. It was something that Bishop understood, but didn't really understand. If he could be human and gain this knowledge completely who was he to not try it?]

And how would you become human? It is physically and genetically impossible.

Logically, it would not be feasible as well. The point is not to become human, in order to be more efficient and capable of helping them. Becoming one would defeat the purpose of your creation.

Correct, but this place does not seem to follow any form of logic or reality. Not by those standards at least. While magic is only something that exists in books, fairy tails and movies, it seems this 'game' can do things that aren't possible.

I have calculated that it would most likely null and void a lot of my functions and programming if I were to become human, so yes, I wouldn't be nearly as efficient as I am now. A human mind is not nearly as capable of storage like ours, but that is not to say it isn't just as capable in similar ways. Ours is just much more reliable. [It 'remembers' everything in crystal detail, there is no chance to forget or remember something incorrectly with the mind of a machine. It was quite helpful.]

And I would be susceptible to illness and a multitude of things we currently do not have to worry about as we are. Inconvenient, but that would be part of the experience, no?

Seeming alive and human like is the purpose of my appearance and the work of many years to make sure humans are comfortable in my presence. I can simulate human emotion and respond much like any human to situations as needed to continue the illusion.

Though most of the time I am around marines and soldiers who don't care if I'm human or not.

I don't, but even now in the time I exist in no one has yet to prove with actual physical evidence that a soul does in fact exist in humans or living things. But it seems to be an accepted belief, much like religion and the belief in Jesus Christ and his father, God.

People have written of them, over and over, there have been studies to try and prove them, but all we can do is believe. While I am a being made to react on facts and actual physical things, the idea of a soul is something I can understand and fathom as being nice. I can see why humans like the idea of them. It does make me wonder if something that is technically not 'alive' in the human sense can also have a soul.

As it is not a commonly accepted idea that synthetics do.

Not really sure of that myself. I just follow the rules and protocols.

From what I'm being told, the possible place I could be heading isn't the safest, but that is part of living isn't it? Surviving and adapting to the situation.

And I plan on learning, either way. [Learning was the one thing a synthetic could do and 'enjoyed' in a sense. With the storage room in their 'minds' they had endless space to put all sorts of information old and new.]
