For centuries, you hunters have been arbiters of exactly what's evil and what isn't. But you yourselves are just like me. You yourselves make evil like me. Do you know what I wanted to do with my life before my family was killed and everything human was burned out of me?

[Peter just smiles as he says all of this, not visibly angry at all.]

No, and who cares now? Because the others do matter, if you still love Scott. And believe it or not, a disproportionate amount of my own hopes and dreams, such as they are, depend on Scott's survival.

You and your father could hunt Derek and me now, and there's no telling what the outcome would be. But no matter which side loses, their loss means Scott's death.
