on the Big September Event, and the recent ch85

You're insatiable, aren't you. This upcoming "large plotting event" that's yet to be announced couldn't possibly be more stressful, chaotic, or unpredictable than what's actually going on at home right now, but that doesn't mean sending me back to experience it all is the necessary thing to do right this moment.

To be frank, it's ludicrous enough as-is that you're contemplating with your friend to once more put either Yuuki or myself into a dangerous position during said plot, should the opportunity present itself. Neither of us need that kind of thing to happen again, particularly with what's waiting for us back home, this time. I could have assumed that what you two put us through last Summer was terrible enough, but I suppose I guessed wrong. Kill either of us off this time, and I won't be so forgiving.

[A firm, forceful promise. Home is heartbreaking and stressful enough. She isn't going to allow for anything to hurt them while in their home away from home.]

[He nods, expression stern, though a slight frown tugs at the corners of his lips. Yori is a bit more of a concern, for obvious reasons.]

Keep Wakaba closer than usual.

I plan to. [Of course, she's her best friend.] I know Yori-chan sometimes feels worried that she's a causing us trouble, but it isn't like that. If something happened to her I don't know what I'd do.

[A bit quieted than before. He puts a hand on her shoulder, giving a gentle squeeze.]

I'm sure her other friends on the island feel the same, too. She'll be in good hands, Yuuki.

[She stares at the ground silently, before giving a short nod.]

[Zero's right, of course. They aren't the only ones who care about her. She's just the one who cares the most. Fingers lifting up, she squeezes the hand on her shoulder.]

Promise me you'll keep both eyes on her, too.

[Don't worry so much over Yuuki herself, Zero. This time around, even if she does get stuck in a bind (and she doesn't want to mean that literally) she'll be okay.

[Too bad, Yuuki. He's still haunted by what took place last year.]

Don't think for a second that I'll let you out of my sight.

[You hear that, Yuuki? The subtle pain in his voice? Because it's definitely there. :| He respects Yuuki's ability and strength to hold her own, but he can't just leave her be so easily. ]

Perhaps you should reconsider your job as a vampire hunter.

[The pain is clear in his voice, a pale reflection of the event still playing in his eyes. She supposes it's too much to ask that he forget. If she could, she'd spare him the memory. So much for her is nothing but a hazy blur, but she can remember his tears. The broken expression of despair and anguish. She never wants to witness that again.

Her hand lifts to gently stroke the side of a pale cheek. He's warm, tangible beneath her touch. Opposite hand rising, she cups either side of his face, and gently forces him to tilt his head down. Forehead to forehead, she softly murmurs, gaze on the pale violet of his in reassurance.]

We'll have each other's back, okay?

[The warmth and reassurance of her gaze is easing. It settles his heart without much effort at all. For the moment, both his hands lift to cover hers, and his eyes close. He breathes her in, knowing she's absolutely right.

Neither of them may be at full strength in Zodion, but it doesn't hinder their will to keep each other safe at all, not even in the slightest. ]

Always.

[He replies just as softly. Tilting in that much further, he presses his lips to hers in a gentle, however solid kiss, and draws her into his arms. ]

Just like always.

[("What's it to you") he almost wants to say through his teeth. There's one thing about it happening at home, however, and those events that take place on the island. There's only so much control he has before his mun steps in.

Instead, there's the starting of a sharp grin at just the corners of his mouth. ]

And what makes you believe I'd ever again do something that might please the likes of you?

[Steady and strong, his heart beat echoes within his ribs, one of her ears pressed against his chest. It's the same cadence that lulls her to sleep each night, wrapped within these same arms.

Much taller than her, Yuuki's arms barely reach up his back as they curl 'round him in a return embrace.]

Are you okay, after everything? The association... [It's gone]

[He keeps her as close as he possibly can, eyes closing. Silence passes easily at first, his thoughts in motion as he decides how he wants to respond.]

It takes more than a building's ruins to rip apart the association itself. [pauses, quieter. His frustration evident within the tone of his voice. The building is one thing, but the weapons. . . ]

We can only hope that not every single weapon has been lost.

[After all, it's certainly possible that not every single hunter was in or around the building at that time, right?]

It was a mere suggestion. Please don't bite me Mr. Scary vampire hunter.

( he chuckles. )

You must be even stupider than I thought, if you think I'd follow any kind of suggestion you'd make.

[he listens to all of this quietly, patiently. It was really too bad that Zero and Yuuki were caught up in a situation like that, considering the events back home. They should at least catch a break.]

If it's Zero and Yuuki, then I'm sure you two can handle it.

[Then again, he really wasn't in a position to hope for anyone else's well-being besides Sara's...]

He has his own reservations when it comes to Takuma Ichijou, given how tied he seems to be with Shirabuki, but there still is the fact that he's never personally wronged Zero. For that alone, Zero doesn't particularly feel much animosity towards the noble.

I'm sure as well. Ultimately, there's not much else we'll be able to do, but handle it.

[hehe he's a completely new muse so I'll apologize right now for the shakiness!! To be honest, Takuma has been fond of Zero in his own strange way; the dorm prefect with the intimidating aura, but who always managed to keep the day class students perfectly safe! He admires his work ethic.]

That reminds me. Aidou had this action toy that he liked very much, but he always wanted the new ones that were supposed to come with it. Eventually, I decided to use a technique called delayed gratification! Which is the longer the wait, the more appealing the toy, or in your case, the longer the muns decide to hold off their canon update, the more exciting it will be for them when they do it!

[He knew Aidou was good for something!] It really works too, so they should give it a try.

He simply continues to hold her. There's too much to take into consideration, and the fact that there isn't much at all that they can do about it only makes it more frustrating. ]

We'll just have to wait and see what our muns decide on.
