Okay. Mun...person. Let me get this straight.

You haven't done this for, what, six months? Longer? LONGER?! Are you sure you're ready for this? And...I'm the person you've picked? And you haven't even decided what, um, 'timeline' thingy you're taking me from?

Couldn't you just leave me alone to take care of, oh, I don't know, my automail business, Granny, Ed, Al, my life? Instead you have to mess with it by doing this?! You're going to break something! And if you break something, you're paying for it!

Speaking of breaking something...where are Ed and Al? I'm sure they've gotten into trouble again by now. And broken something.

I'm going to kill them one day, I swear. Or at least one of them. Or maybe you, if you mess this up.

But you're curious about me. I really don't mind -- especially around here, there are many people who've never seen anything like me before.

Yes, trials.

To explain it as simply as I can, I know everything, but I don't know everything. The answer to every question someone could ask is on one of these charms and I can only find the charm for their answer if I know their question.

However, because the questions that people want answers for are often difficult in one way or another, I give them a trial first -- a test. If they can pass it, they get their answer. If they can't, they don't.

[He'll leave out the part that he's supposed to steal souls if they fail... mostly because he doesn't do that.]

It depends on the person and what they want the answer to.

It can be as simple as answering a question of mine to solving a puzzle to dealing with your deepest fears. They can either be dangerous or harmless, but I never give anything potentially fatal.

Emotional, physical, or mental... whatever is best suited for them.

You'll get used to it if you spend any time out here. Humans were a pretty weird thing for ME to get used to, too.

...Yes, that's a way of putting it. You can't create automail without the screws in them, correct?

In the same way, I can't simply hand over the answers, no matter how much I'd like to. Nor can I make the trials easier than they're supposed to be.

It's... simply how things are done.
