[He lets her massage his temples, but he's still tense, coiled like he's ready to move away from her at any time.]

If you had me so possessed, why did you keep me dependent on you? Dependent enough that by the time I was pregnant the only freedom I could get was through selling my baby. And you don't need to get your fingers wringing my neck just yet. I already feel like sea trash for what happens.
