My lady Mundane,
As honoured as I am by your... choosing me, I must admit I do have other things that require my attention. Important things. My knights need me, and you have other things you should be doing.
We should return to our duties and go our ways, it would be best for all.
[..........]
And no, I do not wish to join any 'games', though I do encourage your trying to play me despite your uncertainties in doing so. I approve of trying instead of giving up at the very least. That action is a good one.
You just don't need to do it with me.

They never did anyone much good, but no one but Bors ever seemed to remember that. [well that's depressing.] Lancelot... [s i g h]

Bors drowned his woes like the rest of us, he was simply lucky enough to find a woman willing to put up with him. [ Depressing indeed. Arthur, don't you even start. ] Don't Lancelot me, I know what you're going to say and I will not have it.
no subject
If by 'put up with' you mean be just as vicious as he was about his commitment. [why you gotta know him so well? So he just shuts up with what he was going to say right then.] If you insist. If you know what I'm going to say, then I guess I'll save it this once.
no subject
Vicious is putting it kindly. [ Because he just does. He knows he hasn't avoided it, but this is a small victory. ] I do. And if you have any sense in that brain of yours you will keep them to yourself, I do not want them.
no subject
I always did wonder about your dealings with her. [You slept with her too probably.] Hope springs eternal. [he's amused just a little.] That maybe this time, something I say will sink into that skull of yours.
no subject
My dealings shall remain a mystery to you. [ Probably, who knows. Lancelot is surely not going to deny or confirm. ] So long that you do not choose to preach about the glories of Rome.
no subject
I think I prefer that. [he doesn't want to save you from an angry husband, especially not Bors. That's a punch in the face he doesn't need.] But it is glorious, Lancelot. It is not my fault you are blind to such things. [He's just doing it to be irritating now.]
no subject
As does Bors. [ Lucky he is that his handsome face is protected by a strong bond of friendship. ] As glorious as a nest full of vipers, perhaps. [ Lancelot smiles despite himself. ]
no subject
ALSO NOW IT IS HIS TURN TO ROLL HIS EYES AT YOUR MANWHORING] I am sure he is. [You're lucky Lancelot, that everyone is terrified of facing him in a fight.] Perhaps, but after facing woads so long, I think it can be no worse. [some things never changed, and that almost not smile is there.]
no subject
YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS. DON'T EVEN LIE. ] Personally I would prefer a valley full of woads breathing down my neck. [ Yes, he still has a fair amount of Rome hate at this point. But you can't blame him. ]
no subject
Woads or Saxons? [doesn't exactly blame him, really.]
no subject
Woads. [ His is almost instantaneous. Woads fought them for a reasons, it did not make them exempt from the blame of the lives they took, but they did not kill for the sake of killing. The Saxons had no reason, that he could see, to why they burnt and killed through Britain. ] Their women are betting looking.
no subject
Ah, it's always women with you. [He doesn't mind it though, laughing under his breath. But he had to agree, he'd take Woads over Saxons many times again, for more or less the same reason. ] What happens if your choice is Rome or Saxons? And there is not a woman to be seen?
no subject
You expected any different? [ This is Lancelot we're talking about here. Though his reasons are more complex than he lets on. ] Neither. [ That is a terrible choice. ]
no subject
I cannot say I do. One day you'll find something else to fight for I hope. [He knows, and Arthur's not sure he's always understood them.] Come now, Lancelot, that is not an answer. [deal with it.]
no subject
You are a bloody fool if you think I fight for the next woman I take to my bed. [ He can't help but be angry at him for saying it. ] I fight [ fought ] for you Arthur, just you. [ And no other. ]
That is certainly an answer.
no subject
Also look at him awkwardly stare away. Just kick him next time, seriously. That would be less awkward and painful.] No usually you just fight after when it turns out that woman is married. [deflecting? yes. Because he never knows what to say, as much as he expects it their loyalty, he'll never force them about it.]
Not a good one, as well you know.
no subject
Lancelot stands firm in his opinion, especially when it comes to his loyalty for Arthur. He expects the deflection, and it does not surprise him. Not in the slightest. ] She was more than willing enough.
They are poor choices.
no subject
He smiles though, just slightly, because it is nice to hear, even if he'll know exactly what to say to it. That Roman stoicism is a blessing and curse.] Of course she was, that's the problem.
no subject
One day he will crack that stoicism, and when that happens the entire world will likely stop and stare. ] And yet I am saddled with the blame.
no subject
The only time it has was around Germanus. That's... all you need to know. He's just as loyal back to his men.] Well, if you bothered to check first... Also check if she has some particularly over protective father, that'd be nice.
