It's called the paradox of ideas. You have an idea that at first, seems bad. You shouldn't do it. Then the more you think about it and trying to fight it, the more it becomes appealing. It's in your thoughts all the time and it changes.
After a while, just a little gestation period... presto bingo! It eventually becomes a good idea. You wonder why you ever thought it was bad in the first place.
[Shrug! Then a smile.]
