Because it happened. One day. Out of the blue. We went from having Superman and Supergirl to having an entire city of Kryptonians. An entire city's worth of superpowered aliens. On Earth.

The planet's seen many great heroes. The alien was just lucky that Earth's sun agreed with him.

Honestly? I don't want to think about it right now. I'm tired of fighting war after war after some kind of crisis, I just want to live a normal life for awhile.

[Another pause. Contemplates asking her how that happened but given the hostile look she's directing at him, he holds off for the time being.]

[She's trying to remember if Superboy had been alive during that time or not. It hasn't struck her, yet, that he might be from a different universe.]

A normal life? Kid, normal lives went out the window the second that Superman swooped in and saved his first life. That's why he needs to go. Him and his other Kryptonian pals.

Maybe if you turned your back on your Kryptonian side, if you walked away from it, then you'd have a chance.

[Or, if he joined up with her and the others who were working against the Kryptonians. But that's not something she's liable to bring up.]

Let me clue you in on something. Superman's the reason Earth's got a future. His inspiration, not just in heroics, but in showing that humans and aliens can and should get along with each other, pretty much inspires the creation of the whole United Planets.
